Phantom,as much as we’d like that, Frankie has already said that a Beta would be a waste of resources that could be put forward into the game. So no,there cannot be a beta.
I think they should have had a beta with the amount of change in halo 4
well they beta tested halo: reach and we all know what happened there.
not only do you risk the chance the beta doesn’t actually balance the game (armor lock) you also have to slow down production (which means the game won’t be as polished).
though I personally would like a public beta for the simple fact that 343 is trying too many new things with halo 4 to ensure its balance, I know killa KC said the game was tested thoroughly and that we shouldn’t worry but I have my doubts (no offense).

Sounds like you only wanted a beta to play the game early, showing no signs of actually willing to report bugs, errors or anything else you might find.

I agree they must be pretty confident to not have a public beta with ammount of changes being made, I dont think internal testing and closed betas can even compare to the scrutiny the game would be put under in a public beta.

agreed, a beta is meant to test for glitches and bugs whereas a demo is meant to get people hyped up and give them something to do with their time before they play the actual game.
I’m not quite sure that they wouldn’t at least give us a demo of sorts (they could just let us play the portion from e3 and I would be ok with it) but given the halo record of never having demos I think its kind of unlikely.

A beta for most people today is nothing more than a demo.
343 was saying that they are perfecting the game getting everything just right, they say that instead of releasing a beta that they are going to be making the game the absolute best it can be, I don’t know about u guys but i support 343’s decision to work on the game then worry about a beta, they said it them selves that a halo 4 beta is not on they’re schedule.

public beta for major company are more of a promo/marketing tool than actual debug. They usually don’t fix much except thing that were already on their bug listing from closed beta.
Fun Fact: Typing Like This Is Annoying And Unnecessary…
That minor gripe aside, they aren’t having a beta for a multitude of reasons…
But they all pretty much boil down to:
-It would take away too much Development Time and we are confident that a Public Beta is not needed…
So no amount of “Please Sir, Can I have some more” Threads is going to spawn us all our beloved DEMO…(!)
