Halo 4 Ban FAQ Topic

Is there any reason this topic was created in place of the prior one which was unlocked and community members could freely help out and tell people why they were banned. In the Reach topic I used to help out in there a lot, and for a few days and the odd occasion, I’d help in the Halo 4 one, but now you are left with a topic with little to no information about all bans.

Heck, most of this information is just copied from the Halo: Reach ban topic, to the point were it still says credit boosting in the OP.

If this topic is meant to be a replacement for the old one, could you please update to include all ban types in Halo 4 including XP bans, matchmaking bans, quit bans, voice bans, etc? There is no information on Voice Bans in the topic and that is a huge one considering many get voice banned daily.

Something like below would be great.

Halo 4 Official Ban Topic FAQ

If you’re reading this, it is most likely because you have been banned in some way, shape or form on Halo 4. Hopefully this topic will explain to you why you were banned and how to avoid it in the future. It should be noted that there are no way to appeal bans.

Types of bans

  • Voice Ban - ability to use voice chat is disabled
  • XP Ban - ability to gain experience in games is disabled
  • Matchmaking Ban - ability to enter matchmaking is disabled
  • Quit Ban - ability to enter matchmaking for X time is disabled
  • Global Ban - ability to use any Xbox LIVE functions in the game are disabled
  • Voice Ban*

Voice bans are completely player controlled, if you receive X amount of mutes in-game within X amount of time, you will be greeted with a voice ban.

These bans can last anywhere from 1 week to X weeks depending on past offenses.

  • XP Ban*

XP or Experience bans will be applied if you’ve been found to be boosting, idling (AFK boosting), cheating, etc.

These bans can last anywhere from 1 week to X weeks depending on past offenses.

  • Matchmaking Ban*

Matchmaking bans will be applied if you’ve been found to be boosting (multiple times), idling (multiple times), cheating, network manipulation, impersonating an employee of Microsoft and/or 343 Industries.

These bans can last anywhere from 1 week to X weeks depending on past offenses.

  • Quit Ban*

Quit bans are solely reliant on you, if you quit X amount of games in X amount of minutes, you will be banned temporarily from Matchmaking. This is to discourage you from quitting games which leaves the game with one less player, overall ruining the experience for other players.

These bans can last anywhere from 1 hour to X hours.

  • Global Ban*

Global bans are an endgame and final ban, if you’ve been XP or Matchmaking banned multiple times in the past and see no sign of stopping these offenses, you’ll receive one of these bans. They will completely disable your ability to use any Xbox LIVE functions such as Matchmaking, File Sharing, Spartan Ops, etc.

These bans are permanent.

Something like this would be great, heck, I’m sure the Halo: Reach ban topic could use this sort of love as well, maybe even a Halo 3 ban topic instead of asking people to post in the Halo: Reach one.

I agree with you I think the new ban thread should get some more info.
