Halo 4 Assualt Rifle.

I don’t have a single thing to complain about Halo 4, in fact I’m in love with it. This is only a suggestion. I like the assualt rifle thoughout the series but I think it needs just a tiny little damage boost. Well, at least if it’s like the halo 3 or Reach assualt rifle. I don’t know how the Rifle plays in Halo 4 because I haven’t played it. In reach, I find myself using the magnum much more often than the assualt rifle. And trading it off for something else most of the time. I just think if the damage against sheilds were just a bit higher, it’d be a great weapon. It’s great against unsheilded opponents but sheilded ones take too long. In my opinion. You can tell me if I’m right, wrong, just voice your thoughts. They’re welcome here.

Yes, they should slow the bloom a little and buff the damage a bit.

I like that light machine gun sound though. Music to my ears.

I would disagree. I think the damage is fine the way it is. The reason I traded it off a lot in Reach because the pistol was a decent precision weapon to use. The AR came in handy though for multi team.

I don’t want anything drastic. Just a tiny more damage against sheilds.

It’s been hinted at that the changes to the HRAR have made it feel more useful than H3 and HR versions.
There is more recoil to the animation of the AR than before, not sure if there is a higher RoF, but since it’s described as “feeling more like a finisher than a softener”, one can expect either a slight increase to RoF, DpH or both.

It should at least be up to the H3 level of damage if not even a little higher. Based off the gameplay I have seen whatever it is it does not appear to be high enough.

That said I don’t want an AR buff to come t the expense of the Storm Rifle like it the AR buff in Reach came at the expense of the Repeater.

It’s a bullet… coming out of a metal barrel… No matter how far into the future you go it’ll still sound the same. -__-

I knew someone would respond like that. Why are the sounds different from Halo 4 and 3? Don’t give me “because it’ a different sound editor”. If it’s a bullet coming out of a metal barrel why does the Sniper Rifle sound different than the Assault Rifle?

The Halo Reach assault rifle is boss. Best one in the series. It takes proper timing to use properly–knowing when to single-fire, 3-shot burst, or fire full auto. Knowing when to do this, and you can fight on even ground at scoped magnum distance. 3 shot bursts are just as accurate as the DMR, all you need is a good head on your shoulders.

Every new game they call the Assault Rifle better. It will be different, surely. I just wish they gave it more ammo. I’m fine with Reach’s damage.

The Reach AR had a terrible DPS. Hitscan is nice and it is a property the H4 AR will also share but the main saving grace of the Reach AR is the insane amount of magnetism it has. It has a wanted level of bullet curving.

Ideally the AR should be a 14-16 shot kill, much lower magnetism in Reach, and a comparable rof with to H3/Reach
