Halo 4 Assasinations

I am wondering if anyone knows if they are going to have an option in custom games to turn off assassination animations. In reach there was supposed to be a mechanism where you could choose whether or not to assassinate(by tapping or holding melee), but it really didn’t work at all.

I really think the animations interrupt the flow of gameplay and are really annoying, often getting me killed and ending my sprees. For competitive playlists and as an option in custom games I believe we should be able to toggle this off. Who’s with me?

If you had problems assassinating when you didn’t mean to, it might have been your controller.

The option to use assassinations or not in reach did work in most cases. all you had to do was lightly tap the melee button instead of holding it for a second, and you would get a normal beatdown. I see no reason to waste time to put in an option to turn thm off(which would of course take up that much more space on the already packed disc).

That being said, I wouldn’t mind if the time before you go int an assassination was increased, say by 0.2-0.4 of a second. This may not look like much, but it would make all the difference, and make it a bit easier to choose whether you assassinate or beat down.

Um, what mechanism? You mean not holding down the button? That’s not really an option. That’s not holding down the button. That’s like saying burst firing or pacing your shots is an option because you can let go of the button.

Unless you’re talking about the actual option in the Game Options that allows you to turn off assassinations. Then that’s not how it really works.

Its always worked for me in reach by just tapping RB to melee. assassinations are just to show off/humiliate. Also they are fun to see.
