Halo 4 armours do you like them?

Now then who actually likes the new skins for the armours?

personally i think they are absolutely horrendous and the designer deserves a kick in the nads for this.

Reach on the other hand armour skins worked nicely and fact you could slightly modify helmets with additional add-ons was a plus

Everything else is correct.

Halo 4 Armor sucks bullocks.

I personally like Reach’s armory better than 4’s. Most of the armor in 4 just looks plain dumb.

I like 4’s more. I didn’t like Reach’s darker colors.

hahaha lets just remove the kick and replace with a sledge hammer then…

if they allow you to specify colours on individual armour slots it would be a slight improvement,

as for the recent post its not ont he colours gold jacobson its on the armour itself and the way it looks

i agree the colours did look darker on reach

I don’t the armors are all stupid in my opinion. My favorite, and has been for ever, Recon even looks like sh*t in Halo 4. not that it matters though. The games stupid fast pace CoD like gameplay, you never really even have the time to appreciate or notice what people are using. So again in my opinion the armors suck. The Chests are all limited.

Lol don’t hate on me for saying this but Halo 4 is absolute garbage! Yes I can say that, I have spent a lot of time on it, am SR 130 and have all the achievements. I’m all so really sad to say it sucks… 343 ruined Halo… :frowning:

I only like Mark VI, Recon, Recruit, Scout, Warrior, and Air Assault. Everything else sucks.

I liked Reach’s variety of armor.

H4’s variety of armor just doesn’t suit me.

I feel like in Reach there was so many cool looking combinations you could do while in H4, there are cool stances, but the armor just isn’t as good.

i think the armor in halo reach is the best, halo 4’s armor isnt really good…

That was the most hideous idea ever had in a Halo game. Also I didn’t like most of the Reach or Halo 4 armors. Only the original and higher level armors look good.

But overall I prefer Halo 4’s.

Oops lol why it says “the chests are all limited” haha I have no idea how i did that? limited must of been said in my mind and typed in by mistake… :stuck_out_tongue:

Stances are the best part of Halo 4’s armoury, there just too few, and we should be able to unlock guns for our stances too.

The helmets are good, but in gameplay, and even on player cards everything that’s not the helmet is pretty much indistinguishable. Reach did have better variety in this regard.

And why oh why would you remove options from the Armory?

A spartan should look more minimalist and sci-fi with sleek edges and smooth plates, not what Reach gave us with it’s “Extra Ammo” stored on the torso or shoulders. Lets not forget the useless HELMET TOPPINGS that we totally needed with our armor. My opinion is this: Spartans should look like a beautiful piece of art that is bred for combat (Like Prometheans) and not a weak looking figure from Reach.

Ultimately what i care most about is helmets and Halo 4’s aren’t really to my liking. Just a few. I wish Mark V was in. I always used that in Halo 3 and Reach.

But I don’t feel that strongly about it. I think they look fine. Good in fact. Just not my style.

I like them. They are pretty cool.

My problem with them, unlike the other Halos with armor customization is that most of the armor doesn’t look practical, it just looks like an artist made it, not a military program.

To me the decent armors are Recruit, Recon, EOD, Air Assault, and Scout.

I have to disagree with you on the looking like art. I do agree that they should be minimalist, but on a purely functional level (ie. Halo 3’s style with more options). My problem with most of the armor sets is that they don’t look functional or like the military designed them.

Honestly I like 4’s more since it looks more “threatening” in a way, but 3 had the best.

Yeah, I agree.

I notice that when games offer up a lot of character customization, the items don’t really seem that great.

I think this is because of how graphical rendering engines need to work. Designers cannot get too radical with the skins, otherwise they don’t correctly fit the wireframes. This is probably why we only have a choice for gender, rather than additional options such as height and build. And I suppose these engines have to deal with all sorts of things like moving armor pieces as a character runs, jumps, crouches, etc. Imagine the chaos that would be created if it look like jet pack thrust is coming out of the backside of a Spartan instead of a jet pack. Hehe.

Along those lines, there are issues with collision detection logic as characters board vehicles, get hit by them, and get shot at. There are also issues with clipping (and with FPS like Halo, scoping) not to mention lighting effects and shading that have to be dealt with for each skin variation. Though I’m hoping that Halo running on a next-next gen console (Xbox 720) will allow give us more flexibility.

I’m assuming that this is the reason why we are often limited in our choices. And why when game designers try to give a lot of options, they always look like slight variations of one another. That said, I do like the idea of offering up armor choices based on your style of fighting. Though, I’ve noticed that most of those variations appear to just be a paint job that’s slapped on top of the other armor.

Personally, I want the option of drop down plasma screen televisions.

Next on -Yoink!- My Spartan! Hehe.

=d

I like the armor in halo 4. I think Reach’s had cool armor too though. I liked how Reach let you customize the helmets so there was a bigger chance that your armor was unique. Halo 4’s armor is still pretty decent IMO. It does seem like the torso doesn’t offer as much protection though.
