I kinda like the armor in Halo 4. A lot of it just looks weird to me. I am actually sad that the armor pack DLC that was released looked so bad. The armor looks like they didn’t upgrade the graphics at all from one game to this one. Some would look good if it didn’t look graphic wise out-of-place. I also wish i could see my entire Spartan not just half of him at a time. Might not be a big deal to some, but if I’m going to coordinate my armor I want to see all of the Spartan.
I also really like the idea of armor rewards for achieves. And/or something like completing the campaign on Legendary you get the visor. Maybe a reward for Spartan ops completed/legendary. Finish the second half of Ops on Normal or better.
I completely agree. Although I loved the game, I just hated how all the stuff we’ve come to know and love has changed. The Spartan armor, Grunts, Marines, and even the old epic Phantom explosions have all changed. Even though its good for 343i to be fresh and new, I just hope they make Halo 5 still look a bit more like it is Halo.

This post was four months old dude. I’m pretty sure that qualifies as necroposting.
How did you even find this thread? =/
It should have been buried deep in this forum by now…
I felt that there were to many armor pieces and not enough quality in them. Nothing really stood out to me and made go, “That’s amazing”.

Probably got here through a search engine. This is an interesting topic, let’s see what the Monitors have to say on whether discussion of this topic on this thread should be continued or not.
On-topic, I liked the majority of Halo 4’s armor selections but very few stood out to me. My biggest problem with the armor in this game is that there are so many pieces that it’s hard to tell them apart and choose what pieces you need.
I dunno - maybe they should have a bot to auto-lock any post after 3 months, and you can ask to have it unlocked, or just start a new thread reference the old?
anyhoo - I like Reach for ‘believable’ armor - knives, weapon clips, etc. I went kind of minimalist on that one. Same with Halo 4 - Mark VI. Halo 3 - Katana.
I find the helmets in Halo 4 to be ugly and non-functional for the most part.
Well I thought the amount of armor was fair, personally I’d be ok with just using classic armor and that’s what I normally do but the texturing in Halo 4 looked too much like plastic but I guess they could fix that in H5. Halo 4 is the only Halo game where I thought the textures looked weird.
I liked Halo 3 and Halo reach’s armor, there’s something about 4’s that I just didn’t like.
I think that before worrying about armour we should consider more important aspects such as the quality of gameplay.
The armor in reach sucked because all of it was just glued onto the default armor. It made all the spartans look chubby and most of shoulder pads look like they were stuck to the shoulder like a sticky note rather than actual formed to the armor itself.

Maybe because H4 armor looks more like plastic than metal. No joke, the armor in H4 is odd. especially the shoulders.
