Halo 4 armors look to similar

Helmets have a good amount of variety, but chests, shoulders and legs don’t look distinct enough.

Thoughts?

agree

Agreed. Although I must admit ALL of the helmets that do not have Visors bother me to no end.

#1 I think they have a bad case of the Uglys.
#2 IMO, they ae not very “Halo-Like” at all.

I don’t believe there was ever a helmet in previous Halo games that did not have a Visor (excluding the 343 made ones, GRD, ect) Am I wrong?

I noticed that too when I first played Halo 4. Some torso pieces are distinct, but only very few.

Gungnir?

Yes they are all very samey.
I much preferred the Reach armour.
Also one or two poses are very un-spartan like

Wasnt that a 343 one? Or did Bungie design that? I thought that came along in Reach when 343 started taking over. I could be wrong. Reguardless… 1 out of all of them… until now.

No no, it was also seen in the Reach Beta, via glitch though.

I have a much bigger issue with the helmets than any other pieces of armor. There are some serious cases of fugly in there… the new commando? Ouch… makes you wonder if that company they contracted to do the armor did any research in past games at all. I don’t get the star designs on some of them either.

Most of them are very ugly, I agree.

The Aviator helmet shouldn’t be in the game. It’s a -Yoinking!- motocross helmet.

I think another thing that doesn’t help is that they have no defining features.

If you look at the Reach armour variants, they’ll have things like a bit of ammo, netting, knives, satchels, etc. to break up the armour itself.

In 4, it’s just a block of colour. Combine that with the coloured undersuit and it all blends together, with nothing to break it up.

I find a lot of the uglier helmets with no visors etc are an aquuired taste. Now the Infiltrator is one of my favourites and im currentlty loving the CIO which at first I thought looked ridiculous but now I love.I agree that the rest of the armor does look a little similar to each other.

New gungnir looks heinous

I’ve hated 90% of the helmets in Halo since they introduced various ones in Halo 3.

It comes down to personal taste though. The Scout has been my favourite in H3 and H4 (The Scanner is ok, but I would like to see a variant with the scanner either in the up position, or removed). In Reach I always bounced between the Gungnir, and the Mark V**.**
