Halo 4 armor.

I want there to be old Halo 3 armor on Halo 4. I felt like some were better in Halo 3 then in Halo Reach. As for the Scout helment and EOD. What do you guys think?

sure. I for one, love armor permutations, and think having them makes the game feel more immersive, which customization always does. so long as the armor is only aesthetic, and doesn’t actually effect anything in game. I’d really love to see things like mantles you could wear, or a cloak hood type thing, or just any form of drapery on the spartan gear for that mater would look awesome, though I think a full length cape might be impractical. I loved the hyabusa armor, and the Katana spawned a whole clan, so I think having more things like that would make the game more iconic.

plus, with executions, the Katana could actually have some use, as well as other permutations. I think execution effects would allow that. and the Katana could be put on any set of armor as an “Execution Effect”. all these would be the same time length as a normal execution, but use different animations based on which one you pick. these could get pretty gory if 343 wanted, but I don’t think gore is needed. the executions in GoW3 are plenty enough for a gore fest, and I for one don’t feel like brutally maiming my enemy, I’d rather kill them with graceful style and percision, like a Katana through the chest.

That is a great idea. They hopefully read and take consideration on the stuff on the fourms and I am pretty positive they are.

I hope they get even more detailed with the armor perms, like if you want to have ammo on your armor, like pouches, or grenades, or shotgun shells, or a knife, you can put them where ever you want on your armor, while having diverse set of chest and shoulder pieces, helmets, etc. just like Reach.

The idea of having different assassinations that you can select and use is cool too.

I want custimization to a whole nother level. And what I have heard it seems like thats whats going to happen. And the armor custimization is my favorite thing for Reach and honestly keeps me playing it.

I really don’t care so long as spartans don’t look like plastic toys like they did in H3.

> I really don’t care so long as spartans don’t look like plastic toys like they did in H3.

This, and I’ll be disappointed if 4 doesn’t have at least as much new armor as Reach did, in addition to having most of Reach’s armor.

I want to see the JFO helmet again, it’s one of my favorite design wise, as well as the HAZOP and GUNGNIR. all of em are cool but those ones conceptually stand out like the EOD and HYABUSA did.

I think if they wanted to do something like “War Trophies” too, that would be really cool, like having a grunts gas mask hanging from your belt loop, or a necklace of Brute teeth around your neck lol.

I would really like something with armor “touches”, like picking to make your armor have that extra varnish polish and really shine, or have your armor look battle torn and weathered, maybe a two toned paint job so the reflective values of your armor are a different color, or even something funny like a glitter paint to give you that kiddy look that says “I’m good at bumper cars” lol.

I’m totally serious, I’d love this stuff.

Give me a Reach-style CQB helmet and lots of ammo pouches and I’ll be happy.

All that stuff sounds like an amazing idea. All of those have the serious aspect and the fun joking side we all know and love.

I really couldn’t give a damn what they do with armor. since day one its done nothing and whats the point of making it bigger if it doesn’t help. I think they should try a beta of halo 4 armor where it could possibly act like perks. like the sniper bullet shoulder pad from reach would give the player more unsc sniper gun bullets i think they should look into that as an option. it would also give a reward to ranking up.

I’m kind of divided about this. I actually thought some of the armor customization in Reach was cool, but I think it went a little overboard. I honestly really don’t care much about the armor though.

I feel like that is to much like CoD. And if i wanna be screwed over I will play that. I like Halo because it isnt perfect but it is somewhat balanced.

There is alot of cool customizations and then there are ones I think they were running out of ideas.

I think all armor from all Halo games should be present in Halo 4. Nothing is more important to the casual player than customization.

That is so true. I love leveling up to see what I can get after that.

hell no, giving “perks” as a reward for playing the game more? this destroys the core mechanics of the game, and eliminates the need for map control. it also makes armor less “aesthetic” and more “tier” based, which is typical of MMO’s of which Halo is not an RPG, and should not require tons of gaming time to gain an advantage, since the game is skill based.

no perks, unless you want them to make the game to be all about picking the right ones and combining them with their weapon preferances in order to create unbalanced load outs that have no downsides so they can dominate the game. they might as well add in “kill streaks” too, and promote camping by giving you stealth options like supressors for your BR and Shotgun.

the last thing I want to see in halo, is attack dogs and gun choppers as rewards for kills. it would change everything about the core mechanics, and make it a totally different game, one that already exists in modern combat sims like CoD.

stuff like ledge vaulting and going prone is one thing, but when you start putting in “perks” and “kill steak rewards”, it’s not halo anymore.

NO dont u remember how rediculous the armour looed in halo 3 they looked like toys if u noticed that halo has been holding bagage and using excuses intsted they need to make all new amour something we’ve never seen before insted of constintly remaking the sme damn halo 3 amour that showed that ther not putting in much effort that there just redrawing tha same -Yoink- new shoulders new nees new helmets the visor colors should be lik the armour colors remeber we are master Chief so he should look how we want hin to when were playing campaign even the same way reach campaign was how ever your spartan looked is what was shown and thats how it should be from now on. keeping the same halo helmets would mean that halo isnt evolving the game is ten years strong halo isnt waring diapers anymore .
opinions please
BTW working on the gratest possible design for a BDMR (Battle Designated Marksman’s Rifle) PS its about time halos guns start looking like they were born in the 2500"s am i right.

well yeah, halo needs to keep evolving, but not using the same designes at all would be like completely changing master chiefs armor, which would be completely inconsistant. I don’t want the permutations to be copy and pasted, I want them to keep looking cooler, but based off the designes we love. I love JFO, so I’d like to see a new “halo 4” version of it. likewise, I think the guns could be much more advanced. whatever happened to stuff like laser sights?" I’m sure there would be a futuristic version of it, ya know, that uses a computerized targeting system in your visor, so others can’t see your laser point. stuff like that would really “evolve” the game without changing it.

I agree and I feel like Reach and Halo 3 stuff all together should be put in there.
