I liked Reach’s because of how gritty it was and the armour style that came with it (e.g Ammo pouches, visual enhancements, knives, bullet damage and worn paint) while 3 and 4 felt also clinical, too shiny and clean for much of the stuff I liked from Reach’s armour.
Also, I don’t like how 4’s helmets didn’t have any add-ons for the helmets.
I personally liked Reach’s armor better due to the worn and bulky size to it, but there are certainly aspects of 4 that I appreciate. The non space diaper armor for one is a lot better looking to me. But I’m a sucker for a helmet that’s got a brim and a visor. It’s just good looking and pure Halo… I’m gonna be classy though and say a happy medium of the two with black undersuits and you’ve made my favorite sets of armor.
Halo 4 Spartans are super ugly. Halo 3’s Spartans were better looking. But Reach’s were spot on. Even the elites looked cool. A shame they stopped making them playable/customisable.
Combine them. All black undersuit, somewhat dirty and metallic textures, with sleek secondary color patterns. Possibly re-add attachments to the armor sets.
Definitely prefer Reach. The bulk of the armor is more realistic, like you’d expect from walking tanks, and the pieces have less of that super sharp angular business going on in the helmets. There are just too many weird, futuristic aesthetics going on in the H4 helmets. In Reach, I loved the Mark V(b), Mark VI, Mark IV, Commando, etc. Those actually look like functional, practical helmets.
It’s a bummer that they make the best looking Master Chief armor in the game, but you can’t use it in multiplayer and they have really funky multiplayer armor and models that are a step back.
I love how SO many people complain about Halo Reach’s armor being bulky. in gameplay, it wasn’t so bad; But the loading screens and armory made the shoulders (Specifically everyone’s favorite Skullface’s shoulders) look uberbig. At least different shoulders went well together. EVERYTHING seemed to fit together, except the Jumpjet shoulders. Those were… Wierd.
All in all, I prefer reach’s armor. I didn’t feel like a damn Plastic man who glowed in the dark.

And you brought this back from being a month in the dead because…?

Lol A month necro isn’t that bad considering the year old necroposts that have been popping up lately. Haha
OT: I like the variety of Halo 4. A lot of options. But Reach had the best battle-worn look. Also, armor attachments are way cooler than skins, imo.

IMO it’s seems very on topic and not a topic that needs to stay dead. and it’s only 1 month.
Me, personally , I like Reachs Armor way better then h4’s

Every necro is pretty much on topic unless you get those spam posts saying “HALO IS DEAD” and other stupid BS that makes no sense.
Regardless, I do kinda miss looking like a big brawler when playing Fat Kid
I thought every Halo 4 helmet looked like a Power Ranger helmet. As for the overall armor, I’ll take Halo 3 above Reach and 4. Those actually look like Spartans.
In general, Halo 4’s art direction was pretty bad.
