I really hope that in h4 even if the actual armor doesnt help you in any way (but i think it has been confirmed that it will, perks rite?) the hitboxes will change depending on the armor type, wether ur male or female etc. thoughts???

The only facts that have been confirmed about armor is that, besides being aesthetic, some pieces of armor will modify gameplay functionality.
Everything else is just pure speculation.
i just had a flash back to halo 3’s swat where eveyone played as elites because they were harder to headshot (apparently)
I’m hoping they’ll some how manage to have the armour functions as well as the old school aesthetics. I still want to make my Spartan look how I like without completely screwing up how I play. It may be that the things that change functionality are present on certain parts and look more like attachments. I think it’s too soon to say.
I’d like for hitboxes to be how they are in Reach. That part of Reach is actually balanced. No matter how big or small your armor is, everyone’s hitbox is the same. However, I hope they’re tweaked so that certain things won’t mess them up. For example, apparently Evade completely screws up the hitbox while in the animation.
agree with all u guys pretty much
Personally, what I think they should’ve done, is have all the parts that give your armor stats as “modifications”. That way, you could stick them on any helmet, chest, and look how you want, without sacrificing your edge in combat.
I posted a thread back in beginning of March, on the same thought lines.

Please? Choosing something isn’t an edge in combat, it’s unfair and unbalanced for the people who chose something not as good.
You want everyone to run around as girls in the same small boring armor configuration because it has the smallest hitboxes. That sounds just terrible. All the same hitboxes please so I can use the armor I like best.

thats exactly wat i want either you can look cool or you can have slightly smaller hitboxes ur choice…
I never did notice ‘Slightly smaller hitboxes’ actually doing anything in Reach, and back to hitboxes, i remember the Katana in H:3 not having one.
Hitboxes don’t have to follow how you look, they can, and most likely will, just be a pre-set default, only rendering where it hits your armour’s base/modifications, when it actually hits the hitbox itself.
Functionality may be something like the Sniper shoulders in H:R, boosting the amount of Ammunition you have, or it might actually boost armour plating to different places on the armour itself (Like the UA/CounterAssault in H:R.), or it could simply buff/debuff different stats. (Shield Strength, Speed, Armour Strength, etc.)
Umm armor is not just for looks anymore, so yeah.
