Keep multiplayer in Halo 4 exactly the same. Remove slayer pro.
Create a separate playlist that has a $5 monthly fee for playing
Use the monthly subscription to pay for dedicated servers and a new map every few months (only for the Arena Shooter playlists).
Dedicated servers will stop lag switching and generally improve reliability.
All maps are smaller and symmetrical, with classic weapon drops. Subscription fee would mean these maps would actually be 343i made maps (not forge for the most part)
Playlists are:
4v4 (contains a mix of objective and slayer)
2v2
1v1 (would be possible with dedicated servers since hosting is non existent)
All playlists have visible ranking, as well as team (or clan) ladders and tournaments. Subscription fee would allow for a more proactive approach to prevent cheating (pay for officiating staff that could review cases of cheating. Would work on a “after so many reports” basis)
people who do not want to pay the fee can still play everything halo has to offer right now, MM included. The amount for the monthly fee, as well as all playlist info is obviously just throwing out ideas. Feel free to make suggestions.

keep in mind, the fee would make it easier for casual players to give a reason why they are not ranked. This would separate the competitive community to a degree, so they might actually stop bothering the casuals.
you could say “I refuse to pay extra blah blah” when really you just don’t want to be judged, etc.

To separate competitive players from non competitive players all you need is to have a separate playlist for ranked and a separate one for non ranked game. You should be able to play all game types ranked or non ranked.

Again, plenty of other games offer dedicated servers for free. I have no intention on telling developers “oh yes! You may charge me for every tiny feature of the game!”
Making sure little kids aren’t in the playlist? Really? In today’s society everyone is self entitled. Including the children. A Pay to Play playlist would most likely be the area all the kids migrate to.

It’s not about the amount money its the point of any money. MS owns 343 therefore they have money out the -Yoink-, like it was stated other games have servers for free. If you are paying for live no game can charge any more money to play it besides season pass which comes with new games or dlc.
I not against your ideas but again these should be standard for all for free. MS and 343 want a profit and thats it. They marketed the game, showed it all over the place but no demo or beta. They sold over a million the first day just from the game and that number will double if not triple within the next few weeks.
YET like my thread points out, this game is broken to a point where it is not halo. Many people are pissed off because of the state of the game. However if you call MS they have no answers and the only way to contact 343 is on these forums and they don’t respond. Big mistake maybe not now, but when those new systems roll out and halo is no longer a must have well thats when they will take the hit.

Agreed, this game should not be called Halo anymore. They messed with so many core gameplay mechanics it’s unreal. I don’t understand why people hated Reach more, when Halo 4 has even less in common with the older Halos.

Seriously. I don’t understand why people just can’t move away from the past.
Anyway, I don’t think I’d pay for server space. Map DLC? Sure but not server space.
