I read 343’s description of Halo 4 and it said that Chief would face an “ancient” evil as shown here. The only “ancient” alien species that I can think of from the Halo universe is the Flood, and the Forerunners, so do you think he’ll encounter flood, forerunners, both, or an entirely new breed of ancient evil?
The Flood is an ancient evil. I wouldn’t necessarily call the Forerunners evil though. Maybe the Precursors?
It could also be somthing new that we have never heard about.

Well duh the forerunners weren’t evil, at least not as a generality, I’m sure there were criminals and such like humans have today. But they weren’t evil, maybe some forerunner sect that went “bad” or “evil” or whatever you want to say. They discovered the flood on the first Halo, maybe there are more parasitic/predatory alien species on one of the other Halos.

The Forerunners were really an odd race. They did have crime, and corruption in government.
In a Waypoint video it states that there are Flood specimens contained on other Halos, but their status is “unknown.”

I think we’ll definitely be seeing the flood again at some point, maybe we’ll be fighting new flood species? I remember forerunners fighting giant flood monsters on Halo Legends, maybe something like that? And what I want to know is, why would the forerunners save flood specimens? I thought that the flood was the one species they were trying to eliminate.

Probably new species of Flood. Epic Flood boss battles would be fun.

Maybe enemy boarding on the flood bosses, like the prophet of regret in Halo 2? It would be pretty sweet to board the head of a flood boss and shove a sticky grenade in its eye or something.
