HaLO 4 and what will be forgotton.

To all of those who are both inspired and worried about what will happen to this franchise…

It has come to my attention, somethings might be forgotton that shouldn’t. Over the years I have played all of these games with friends who now feel the label has lost itself to other ideas. He says its not like how it use to be where you play a game and didn’t care what time it was. As we grew up we went seperate ways only to find that as much as we enjoy the new titles, part of our childhood will be washed away.

Does anyone remember the first time you had 2 SMGs or could operate a wraith? We take the little things for granted. Always wanting better or some sort of new comadity that has made us expect so much and yet forget the things we charish about how it was. So often, I have found myself wondering what will happen to the generation that started from the beginning? Yes, they have made Halo Anniversary, yet the server for halo 2 went down some time ago. With the new Consoles will we be able to look back and say I want to play the whole story?

Looking at the big pictures in halo 3 we had so much technology. Bubble sheilds, flame grenades, the gravity hammer which inspired Grif Ball thanks to people like CROZE and other team members from the original bungie. However, we have jumped back in time. Halo Reach we could customize our armor to be a MARK VI. You could play through the campaign and see your spartan. That being said after all the events that have taken place, we are now downgrading to Mark IVs? The vehicles that haven’t been seen for years. When was the last time you saw a hornet or a ride that you either destroyed or operated in previous games? Halo 4 takes place as present as we can get. Can someone tell me than why 343 is downgrading the spartans? We as players need to go back more and look at what truly Made each game its own. they still have time before the release date?

Overall we as the fans need some means of imputting a better understanding for the weapons, equipment and rides. Tactics have changed, and If we want this game to be better we need to have imput on something that we want to last maybe another 5 to 10 years. But For the true fans or those who want to learn more, start from the beginning. Start on Harvest and make it through each book and game. We shouldn’t need to be like COD or Battle Feild 2. We need to remember what the character is use to? what fits him? What it means to face a world alone and still have the bearing to be what you are without anyone watching.

overall just see the big picture. Who still believes even when its over? If you have any points or things from previous games you miss, state them. Thank you.

I have no idea what I just read. What exactly is you’re point here?

Also, we aren’t being “downgraded” to mk. IV armor, we are playing as Spartan-IVs, who wear a lighter version of Mk. VI armor.

When was the last time i played in a hornet?

A few days ago when i was playing halo 3.

What can you expect? It’s his first post here. Of course it’s not going to make sense.

As far as downgrading Spartans, it’s a widely known fact that there are a very limited amount of Spartan II’s like Master Chief. In fact around only handful of them have survived the war with the Covenant, that we know of.

So a new breed of Spartans have to take their place. That is why we now will have Spartan IVs.

Could 343 have just had Spartan IIs in multiplayer? Sure. However, they want a more immersive Halo that brings continuity to the franchise at a level that has not been seen before. By introducing these new Spartans it creates a new experience yet still retains soe of the honored traditions of the games.

To say you’ve lost your childhood? Respectfully, I have to say grow up. You’re not a child any more right? Things do and will change.

I’m a product of the original Star Wars trilogy from the 1970s. You don’t think I’ve had to deal with many elements of change from my childhood? Star Wars, Transformers, GI Joe, etc. I came upon Halo when I was in my early 30s. It’s changed and evolved in ways some wouldn’t have expected, yet to it’s core has remained Halo.

Some of the changed presented to us regarding Halo 4 have some alarmed. However from the look and sound of it, it’s very much Halo. Gameplay is changed somewhat, but again is still at it’s core Halo.

It’s funny how people complain about their childhood being lost. Folks, we can all go back to watching those shows of old and in most cases playing those video games too. Granted the multiplayer experience of the likes of Halo 2 are about gone, but you CAN still play it, if you set up a LAN and so on.

The point is, things will never stay exactly the same. If they do, they become stagnant. You either have to embrace the change or move on from it. If you find the direction of Halo from here on isn’t for you, so be it. Enjoy what you had for the past 10 years. Noone is going to fault you for that. (Or rather they shouldn’t) However, if you give up on the franchise now, I suspect you’re going to miss some awesome gameplay, story and development of the greatest XBOX game ever.

Isn’t it Mark VII? Mark VII was described as “lighter” in Halo: Glasslands and I don’t remember any confirmation on what their armor really is aside from it being lighter. If Mk. VII exits, why would they be using Mk. VI?
