Having no elites in custom games in Halo 4 is a major determent to machinima.
The main point i’m making is the impact on machinima as a whole not specifically Arby n the Cheif, so don’t sit here and argue about it necessity in Arby n the Cheif instead in machinima as a whole.
Halo 4 will not have elites in either custom games or matchmaking it appears. Heres the thing i’m not arguing for elites in multiplayer but instead in custom games. Theres this little thing called machinima 343 I didnt know if you were aware but a lot of them focus on elites as well as spartans/soldiers. If we look in particular Arby n the Cheif one of the most succesful machinimas relies on using an elite in the online part of the machinima. So what is Jon CJG gonna do have arbiter play as a spartan maybe but lets be realistic how stupid is that.Bungie has been so gracious to machinima giving Jon recon as a sign of gratitude. 343 I fell like your leaving machinima no accomodations no weapons lowering option in custom games online so any exploit could just be turned of in custom games and now this. Elites have been a part of machinimas for years and not including them in custom games would be a major determent to a lot of your fans. Oh and you better have theater. My grievances can all be corrected as well as my belief in 343’s support in machinima if some 343 employee replies in the forum post after much consideration were adding elites to custom games. If you agree with me please post(not bump) about how much you want this to keep the topic current so 343 employee’s can see. If we can keep this up at near the top for a couple of weeks they will pretty much have to do it.
Halo: CE machinima is great, dispite the fact that you cannot play as a Sangeili.
Could people not keep making machinima using Halo 3 and Reach? Just because Halo 4 will come out, it doesn’t mean that people are obligated to use it. Those who wish to continue making machinima with Elites can play older games.
Take a look at Red vs Blue, they’re currently still using Halo 3 for machinima even though Reach has come out.
That was before machinima became used to using elites. The only machinima to really pull that off was RVB and thats because back then they relied on comedy so battle with elites was not needed as were now a lot of directors rely of elites for their stories. RVB uses Reach but augments it with cgi renderings of halo 3 meaning that the top 2 machinimas rely on the current game I don’t see any reason for that to change.

The reason why using the newest game is necessary is that machinimas get the most views on the newest game. A lot of people rely on machinima as income RVB, Jon CJG. Could they use an older engine yes. Would it hurt their viewership significantly I think so, because once reach came out their was a stark decline in halo 3 machinimas maybe none being hosted on machinimas channel. This supports the fact that machinimas need to use the current game to thrive. Also Arby n the Chief puts a lot of focus onto the current online community of halo as well as referencing any flaws this would not be possible using an older Halo game.
Jon will probably just make an episode where Arbiter is upset by Elites not being in Halo 4 while Master Chief curses about how he hates Elites and them just make Arby play as a Spartan.
There’s this little thing called space. It comes from xbox limitations. You can only put so much on one disk friend. 343 can only put what they think would be the best in Halo 4, they can’t just put everything they want. Most people who buy the game won’t be making machinimas, so the most important thing is gameplay.
Arby n the Chief is based on real life, filmed footage inside the flat. It’s not all based in the game. The arbiter can just play as a spartan on the game. This changes pretty much nothing, again another stupid complaining thread which hasn’t been thought out.

Its called adapting. If machinima makers can’t do it, then thats their problem.

The title was intended to get people talking about it. Although the Arby n the cheif thing is a small part of it. RVB is not sponsored by machinima your logic is flawed. A machinima is a tv/movie series using video games to show the story.
Its possible that we will be able to play as Promethean Knights in multiplayer for things such as invasion(if there bringing it back) so you could use them instead, but i doubt it.
That would be a perfectly acceptable alternative but I agree it probably wont happen.
