Has anyone else felt like Halo 4 has adapted a lot of new ideas that make it feel very similar to Metroid Prime? I just got done watching the forge preview from gamespot and the music sounded just like something off MP. The first time I saw the halo 4 campaign trailer I thought the prometheans looked very similar to space pirates. Don’t get me wrong I’m not complaining as Metroid Prime and Halo are both my favorite games. If Halo 4 is anything like MP I know it’s going to be a sick game and I’m so excited! What are your guys’ thoughts on this?
The mix of different elements with the aspect of that halo feel, such as a darker tone, the music, and the controls is what makes the concepts overlap to make a excellent feel for a halo game.
the recent OXM discussed this as well and I have to agree. It does have elements from Metroid but overall, it’s mix with what makes halo halo, making the experience more to Halo’s liking.
One of the lead campaign designers in Halo 4 also worked on Metroid Prime 2. Also one of the senior designers from Prime 1 & 2 worked on Halo 4. But I don’t think the 2nd guy is with 343i anymore. I wish I could remember their names.
Edit Found it! Jason Behr and Kynan Pearson.

Their multiplayer designer worked on the Prime series?!?!?! That explains why I love the look of every map so far.
And many of the similarities to Metroid probably come from Halo 4 delving into the darker and more alien side of the Forerunners more than the first Halo trilogy did.

Glad I’m not the only one who thought this.
On topic though, yeah a few aspects remind me of Metroid, but it sill looks like Halo to me.
P.S. I know your not complaining. I’m just saying what I think.
I noticed this too… and I love it!! Any music that resembles Metroid Prime’s is bound to be good.
