Halo 4, and how it will turn out.

Hey guys,

Here is a fact pointed out to me by MIKKEEEEEEEEEEE

343i said right from the beggining, that their trilogy will not be a rehash of past games. They said right from the start, that while they are basing them off of old games, they have their voice, and they will use it.

They are making this game their own, they said from the beggining that this will not be bungies halo.

The point of this thread is this: The people outright asking 343i to scrap everything they have done, take halo 3, and improve the graphics, thats not going to happen. They said it right from the beggining that that wasnt going to happen. So why are you asking them to?

This doesnt mean i agree with all the changes. Halo has always invented, not mimicked, but who knows? With the items implemented, this could be the game of the century or the worst game ever made.

But there is one thing this wont be. This wont be bungies halo.

Silent

That is sooooo true.

P.S. Hi again, Silent.

Almost as if you saw what I posted 2 minutes ago and copied me word for word. Quite the coincidence…

This is very true

Oh well I don’t mind you restating it for more to hear. Thanks for giving the credit though!

I know I will love the game, regardless of how mainstream the competitive multiplayer MAY (the only thing I am not sure of is the custom loadouts at this point, and that is probably going to be better than expected) have become. Campaign will be awesome, as will be Spops and I would bet Forge will be awesome too. Multiplayer will always be fun, regardless of how mainstream and similar it is to all other games and how different it is from classic Halo’s even starts and fluid map control. I really do believe the game will surprise some for the better (whether or not they realize it). And the graphics are mindbogglingly amazing, no doubt.

I say, give it a chance.

I definitely agree. I had mentioned this on some comments on different sites as well. This trilogy is 343’s trilogy. They have their own vision and their own ideas. I have faith that Halo 4 will be a great game.

I understand that it sucks when your favourite series change sometimes. Sometimes series change for the worse. However, there is only so long that you can keep a game the same before it’s stale.

Series need to change and evolve. Some people need to stop clinging to the past and give Halo 4 a chance.

I understand why people would be concerned considering that Reach wasn’t the greatest. I may not like every change that they’re making in H4 but overall it sounds like it’ll be great. I’m also saving my judgment till I can play the game.

H4 is in the hands of 343 now and I believe they won’t let their fans down.

This is exactly how i feel. Mulitplayer is but an aspect of the game. It will always be fun in its own way. Sure, loadouts is concerning, and hate the idea of weapon unlocks, but truth is, we will get used to it.

It ten years, people will probably be saying the same thing we are now. They will be talking about how halo 4 was the best etc. becasue those are the ones they know.

Just so long as the maps are built better than reachs, i’m all for it.

Yes!

I have said that many times too. “They said this would be 343i’s Halo”. They logically wouldn’t have the same veiws as Bungie did/would, especially in art design.

So far, I think Halo 4 will be amazing. The graphics and detail is stunning, the new things sound like they are trying to be balanced (343i is showing effort), and there are some awesome new features (Spartan Ops).

I made a thread about that a long while ago. It may seem like a big deal now, but if you let yourself have faith and try it out, you may find it isn’t as bad as it seems. You may get used to it.

Like switching between games. You get used to one control layout, go back to Reach for example, and it seems weird. Play for a little while, and it feels natural again.

Exactly. I can see why they are concerend. New company, new Trilogy, and after the disapointment that was reach (I liked some of it, but the maps were horrible) i can see why they would be concerned. But that doesnt mean we have to blacklist everything we see as either cod or Reach 2.

Same. When my battlefield 3 still worked, and reach just got boring, i would go and snipre for awhile. Then i would generally come back to reach, play some more, then off to assassins creed or even Black ops…

But something always pulls me back to halo.

Definiltey. I really like the idea of spartan ops, and while i will mis firefight, i think spartan ops will be a really good replacement.

I hope they succeed with the balance.

Agreed. I liked some of Reach too but wasn’t a fan of the campaign, some of the changes they made to multiplayer and the maps weren’t very good.

I believe that 343 is trying their best to cater to the needs of all their fans and make everything as balanced as possible. If people end up hating the game or not liking certain features in it, that’s fine, but they should save their judgement until they can actually play the game.

How could it possibly be the worst game ever?

> How could it possibly be the worst game ever?

It really couldnt, but it could be the worst halo game to date… Or, as i like to look at the positives, it could be the best halo game to date.

Would be awesome if turned out to be the best Halo to date. =P I believe it will easily be better than Reach. Not sure if it will be better than H3. We’ll have to see. =]

The campaign was definitely far from stellar. The maps were part of what made reach bad. Now i generally dont complain about armor lock, but armor lock, bad maps and jetpack are really what destroyed reach. Reach had substantail potential, but the wrong decisions were made.

I wouldnt go so far as to say until they play the game, but we definitely need to see more of it. We need to see enough actual gameplay to give good, constructive feedback. Problem is right now, most of what we say are specualtions and opinions based on items in past games.
