- Halo 4: only 16:9?
The fist thing I’d like to know is if Halo 4 is going to be like Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, only with 16:9 aspect ratio. It isn’t a big problem, but for those who haven’t got a HD TV, it certainly annoys.
- Aim acceleration or problem?
I recently heard about aim acceleration (which means that when you move the right joystick it takes a little time to move, like if the weapon had weight) in Halo 4, and it gave me food for thought, because when I play for example Halo: CE Anniversary in a HD TV it happens, but it doesn’t happen when I play in my 4:3 TV.
Is it my TV or what?
- Halo 4 thoughts
Well, Halo 4 is 4 months away. So far, what do you think about the game?

Aim acceleration isn’t exclusive to your TV or its settings, it is in-game for everything, you probably just aren’t noticing it on the smaller display.

You’re talking about screen lag. HDTVs usually have that.

Which is why I don’t use one and Halo 4 should be 4:3 compatible.
I thought by choosing 4:3 on your Xbox System Settings, it would automatically use that in any game

If you play Halo Anniversary in a 4:3 TV, it will have two black bars.

if screen lag is a problem for you try setting your tv to ‘game mode’ that should take off most of the stupid effects that cause lag on video games
Aim Acceleration wasn’t in Halo CE, or Anniversary.
What you experience is something known as HDTV Video Delay, and it plagues HD gaming for some people.
It doesn’t happen on all HDTVs, sometimes it’s even the wires. But for some reason, when you play on an HDTV, there’s a chance of there being a slight video delay, which you will notice when you see lips not sinc to words properly, or when you input actions on a controller, and it feels “sluggish” (flicking the right thumbstick is a great way to test this, see how long it takes the screen to move after you hear the click).
Sometimes this can be fixed just by switching to an HDMI cable instead of using Component. Others it’s just the TV and you will have to deal with it, or get a new one. Plasma Screens are FAR worse for it than LCDs, so that could have something to do with it too.
But in terms of Aspect Ratio, it’s just something we’re gonna have to deal with. If you’re still using 4:3’s in this day and age you are way behind. We have already stepped up from 1080p HD to 3D television. That puts you 2 full generations behind. It’s like complaining because Nintendo DS games don’t play on your Gameboy Color.
