First of all i want to make clear this isnt a ‘m4ke tH3 arm0r lo0k lyke h4lo Re4ch’s’ post, i know we’re sick of those. i get 343 is taking it in a new direction no matter how much we may or may not like it, but there is one ridiculous flaw in it, something that didnt need removed: the space diaper. now i know a lot of jokes were made in the past, but like it or lump it its removal creates some serious problems that 343 did not address in the redesign. they cannot simply say ’ well this looks silly, lets remove it and just not change it’. it would leave a huge weakness not only on the spartan family jewels, but at the sides of their legs as well. it leaves a huge gap at the front of their torso with no protection. another point is that as you see here: http://img2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20091201214244/halo/images/f/f1/Halo3MC.jpg
the bottom of the chest piece has a substantial drop that in combination with the space diaper, really provides a lot of protection. all in all, i would like to see some from of this return. hell even the mark V one in halo 4 was good, it was smaller and suited the art style, yet was still there. it would even be funny to see the space diaper as a customizable armour piece! what do you guys think? keep halo 4’s crotch neglecting armor, or does the halo community practice safe combat?
Halo 3 Armor Variants with the Halo 4 look. That’s the sweet spot. For example, I love the scout armor variant, but in Halo 3 it looks plain ugly. However, in Halo 4 it looks awesome. So if we could find that balance between Halo 3 functionality and Halo 4 looks we would be set.
Make the armor look like Halo Reach’s.
yeah that’d probably beperfect,halo 3’s non segmented armour (with an undersuit that actually prtected you rather that being essentially a spandex costume) with halo 4’s slant on things

The Halo 4 spartans had crotch protecting armor, where there crotch is the over skin is hardened, its why it looks different in the crotch section, and the Halo 4 space diaper looked alright for its style, but it should have been like it is except the under part where the butt and crotch part of the armor connected there shouldnt have been armor, in looked like a thong when i was ‘slow mo’ assasinating my friend.

You had one job.
I feel like it really depends on design. Look at the Halo 4 ODST chestpiece for example. No space diaper, yet still protected. So if the armor extends down far enough then there is no need. But that is only the ODST set. Pretty much every other set (excluding the Mark V) just left a big open gap. If I were a spartan, I wouldn’t want to completely rely on my over shields for protection in that area. Of course, even the over sheilds couldn’t stop the force of impact (logic) but still, superheated plasma hitting the crotch after an exhausted overshied would be VERY unpleasant. I vote Halo 3.
