Well, I don’t think there isn’t anyone who wouldn’t love to see these make a return in Halo 4. They gave more incentive to play on weekends, and it was always fun to play “Special” playlist for some extra exp.
I actually liked Grifball, Infection, Snipers, SWAT and Rocket Race in Halo 3, because they were something special, not something you could play all week if you wanted to.
Once they turned into their own playlists, the population on them died pretty quickly.
Infection and Grifball probably should have their own playlists, considering how much people play them.
This would also cut down the amount of playlists, and the community would be more packed on playing the playlists available, but on weekends everyone would jump on to play the weekend’s “Special”.
If anyone has ideas for specific gametype/playlist for double exp weekend, feel free to post your ideas. Or would you rather prefer, Snipers, SWAT etc have their own playlists instead of being 2x exp exclusive?

Yep i loved getting on with a bunch of mates and having fun earning double while the losers would get nothing. Bit of a competition for us.
Infection will have its own playlist. I don’t think griffball does. But i think SWAT (SWATguns plz) team snipers and any community silly gametype should be in double XP. I also really miss fieasta. It wasn’t voted for enough in halo 3.
Updated the list, that’d be about 3 months of 2x exp weekends with the current list, I didn’t count infection considering it’ll most likely have it’s own playlist.
We have Flood Infection now of course, but maybe for Double Exp Weekend they could satisfy the nostalgia inside of me and do regular infection (along with its various gametypes like speed demons and save one bullet) on community made maps. Those were some of the best times I had in my entire time on the Xbox, finding out that it was infection weekend and playing it on some freaky maps and getting double exp the whole time.
I think out of your list; SWAT, Griffball and MAYBE Action sack should stay permanent. I was sad when Action sack got sacked in Reach =/ And I’m a big SWAT player (as in I play SWAT lots)
But making the others exclusive would certainly get more people playing them when they pop up. And everyone likes Double EXP when they’re not working

Yeah, I enjoyed Action Sack surprisingly much, considering how much I disliked Reach in general.
And SWAT most likely will be permanent playlist, I have few friends who hardly play anything but SWAT, and it seems to have solid “fanbase”, just like Grifball and Infection.
It’d be quite a surprise if they wouldn’t bring back the Double exp weekends, it was a nice way to bring up the community together playing a certain playlist/gametype.
Snipers needs to stay its own playlist. It’s great practice and has really a very unique play style. It’s made me a far more accurate sniper and its a fun game type. No reason to get rid of it.
