Why does everyone feel the need to attack infinity ward ? Call of duty 4 was a classic in my opinion, and they made a game where you could play balanced games against people, and successfully drew a returning crowd. Three separate COD games are on the top 10 most played, two of which are above halo. I was a Halo fan before a COD fan, but one thing that COD is successful in is making a playlist that featured places where all players could enjoy a game, constantly flaming it is just idiotic. Halo has even gone so far as to start to implement the many features of COD games, so obviously they have something right.
i like your taste in COD, sometimes it can be a very salty fish.
all jokes aside i did enjoy cod4 and waw. bo2 looks like it may be pretty good. i have no respect for mw2 and mw3 though.
I think Halo if anything is more like Battlefield now than COD

This.
People love to label Call of Duty complete crap without taking time to think about what they’re saying. Sure, it’s currently being milked by Old Man Activision to unhealthy levels, but the concepts Call of Duty has brought to the table are great. They just need to be injected with some fresh new blood, and I think Halo 4 does that successfully.
Who cares?
I like old COD, they were classics, the new stuff which people get all up and about is what I find stupid. I do like how Black Ops 2 looks.
All companies always copy something, there is almost nothing original anymore. I don’t mind the copying, I just hate it when they hit Copy game #1 and Paste game #2

If CoD had the 1-50 system in block ops 2 then that means halo 5 will adopt the 1-50 system again. We need to get CoD to have the 1-50 system if we want it in halo, Its the only way to get it back.
I won’t play CoD because it’s too easy, I have nothing against the game though. I don’t care if Halo adopts some features that CoD has also adopted (From other games), as long as Halo does it right, and it looks like they have.
I agree. CoD 4 was a great game that brought a lot of new features to the series. It’s just when half of infinity ward left and the rest of the studio started putting out regurgitated versions of MW1 that people started getting pissed. Now it seems like that series gets a ton of acclaim and sales based off not really doing much to earn it. They don’t appear to innovate much which is a big reason why people bash it nowadays.
This is unlike Halo which, for better or worse, has been trying to innovate and add new features to the series pretty much every time they release a new game. On a slightly related, and very ironic note, here is a review giving Halo 4 a 7.0 based on 343i not changing up the Halo formula enough.

I do agree that they have been putting out revamped versions of old games, and that has angered me, but what makes them successful is they still have all the features that people like. Halo seems to insistent on a “new product,” that it is taking away from what attracted people to halo in the first place. Instead of working off what made it great they are trying to change it completely.
I think CoD titles are overall good, well made games. I just think they release virtually the same game every year with few gameplay changes. You would literally be hard pressed, if shown a screenshot from each MW game, to tell them apart. I’ve never really been in to the CoD multiplayer that much so I used to buy them for the campaign, but now I’ve gotten kind of bored with them. I bought MW3 last year because I had too much money on my hands and the whole time I was playing the campaign I felt like I was trudging through it, just trying to complete it. I’m really bummed Halo 4 adopted so much of its multiplayer feature set. I hope it doesn’t ruin Halo 4 for me the way it ruined CoD multiplayer for me. But hey, at least they rebuild the engine for every new Halo game.
I’ve had my share of fun with the Call of Duty games. Hell, I’ve actually been thinking about dusting off CoD 2 for the hell of it. Also, Treyarch gets brownie points for having a Canadian campaign in CoD 3. To be honest, though, I grew bored with the series. Blops was entertaining (although there were more plot holes than I care to think about… just saying), but the other games became stale rather quickly. They’re well made, but I just don’t see enough of a reason to put money down on them anymore. If I still had a rental store nearby, I’d totally rent it, though.
I think a lot of the hatred it more against the CoD community than it is the game itself. No offense to the vast majority of CoD fans, but there are plenty of loud-mouthed -yoinks- over there that won’t shut up about “CoD vs. Halo.” There’s plenty of people on the Halo side that are the same way. This situation is made even more annoying because of a lot of features that seem lifted straight from CoD (Specializations and killcams, mainly). The argument is mostly just tedium, anyway. For exampel, you can retort that CoD adopted Theater and Halo’s matchmaking system. There is no side that is morally right in this situation, both sides are just making everyone else think we’re all morons.
If people are playing Halo or CoD, doesn’t matter to me. I’ll be playing Solitaire until Halo 4 comes out.
