Halo 2 and Halo 3 where record Breaking games .This though is a different world then the one Halo 3 came into .A low quality game called COD has broken Halo’s Record .Is it possible Halo 4 can take back the record ? If not for most ever what about just xbox360 ? I would like you guys opinion .
There’s one feature out there that would bring back a lot of Halo fans. And that is the 1-50 ranking system. That could really bring the hype back for Halo.
I think that Halo 4 will put Halo back on top, especially with Spartan Ops, it’s like having 2 campaigns in one game, it’s just that one is more gradual than the other.

But you need to remember cod is on multiplatforms… It would be really sad if didn’t beat halos sales… Halo 3 im pretty sure still holds the records for the most sold copies on midnight sale for a single console… Mw2 was on 3 and tied with the money made at midnight… Halo 4 has potential and i think it will break halo 3’s record
For all we know Halo 4 could be the game that brings back are lost brothers then Halo 5 and 6 are record breaking .
I don’t think halo will ever overtake cod…i mean look at these forums, nearly every topic people mention cod…its everywhere…its like facebook…its an household name…you mention halo to moms and dads i bet most of them don’t have a clue, you mention cod…they’ll recognise it
it doesn’t matter if halo sell’s less than cod…halo is the better game and always will be imo

I do remember COD is cross platform is why I asked can Halo 4 break 360 records .

Yeah, I’m not so sure that that is an accurate statement. I don’t think people are going to go in droves to their nearest gaming retailer to buy a copy of Halo 4 because they heard the ranking system incorporates the trueskill 1-50 system.
It sounds more like the 1-50 system is a part of the wishlist for some players, while most players could care less.
Please, CoD lost it’s claim to fame when Skyrim came out. Besides, Halo isn’t really behind, we’re just like Master Chief, frozen in a state of seemingly helplessness only to be awakened to take back the glory we once had.

halo could be number one by implimenting new cool features without trying to imitate (HUGE difference between imitate and copy) the number one game.

Halo 4 will sale pretty good. In fact, maybe I’m wrong, but I feel the sales can only go up. With previous gamers only aged a bit and a new younger generation coming in. Right? It’s math.

Will it? Nah. Different world, more quality games out now then back in the day. Plus Halo lost a lot of mojo.
Heck back in the day even Justin Timberlake had a room in his house devoted to just Halo. How is that for hardcore fan. lol

They did back in Halo 2 and that game did pretty darn well.
I simply won’t take Halo 4 seriously without a skill based ranking system as I did for Reach. I consider Reach a game for children.
While was never big fan of 1-50 I do admit the games where better balanced with Ranking system,(but it was also abused by some) if they bring it back thats ok. It wont bother me slightest. But to say it will be the game changer for more sales think its lttle wishful thinking. There are plenty of games out there that dont use a skill system like the 1-50 and they do very well without it.
effective marketing will go a long way.
something that i think would help in some circles is to have a private halo 4 tournament streamed on MLG a few weeks prior to launch. something like 2 million people tuned into the last tournament, and a lot of people in competitive circles have been turned off from halo because of Reach.
if they hit all the right steps, they could possibly hit 5 million opening day…possibly.

Think they said something or drop hints of it in the podcast.
something about very select few being given chance would need to listen to it again but its near the end
unfortuantly, no matter how awesome Halo 4 may be, even the best game ever, it wont do better than Black Ops 2. wait for Halo 5 to break the records and beat MW5. Halo 4 is being made by a new game company with so much doubt. Halo 4 will show it’s amazing, then more and more people will want Halo 5.
