Many people including me weren’t really impressed with some aspects of Halo 4 . This has led me to think did 343i do a bad job or is halo 4 a good game and we were just over expecting ?? Please post your thoughts
Please post your thoughts on why you think halo 4 is a bad game. Instead of just saying it is bad. Im sure there are things that need a fix and your views about what those things are a mistery.
I do like halo 4 in some ways but many things disappointed me . No firefight , No UNSC aircraft , Not enough built in maps and disappointing forge/custom game options were the things that disappointed me most
I cant really say they let me down, i wasnt expecting much. All i wanted was an arena shooter that played like previous games not like reach. They disappointed me, they said we are bringing halo back to its roots and i believed them. I really had no expectations besides it being a arena shooter and to have them dashed was surprising.
All the extra fluff they decided to add really destroys this game for me.

Pritty much the same for me.
High expectations definetly
After reaches failure I expected great things from 343. And when people said it played similar to halos of old, I was really excited.
First week, Loved the game. Then the excitement wore off and the cracks began to show.
I must say, I am disappointed… And i doubt the TU will change my mind.
Halo 4…is an incomplete game. We were given an incomplete product at launch.
Its not a bad game, I enjoy the new forerunner weapons, the Campaign, Spartan OPs and other additions the game has provided. All though, there are issues across the board with the game.
I didn’t have great expectations for Halo 4, I had reasonable ones though. I expected Theater mode for Campaign and Spartan OPs, I expected the File Browser to be functional, I expected terminals to be viewed in the campaign instead of through Waypoint, I expected a more diverse playlists, I expected to be able to lower your guns online in customs, I expected better or similar custom games options, I expected weapons to be balanced, I expected Vehicles to not be death traps…I could go on.
All I’m saying is that there are reasonable expectations, even for a Halo game. I don’t think people expected Halo 4 to blow them away, they expected some new changes all the while keeping to what made Halo, Halo.
There are some aspects that are disappointing. I wont lie. But its still a fun game and I enjoy playing it.

Neither. It is a fine game. It’s a disappointment because it has forced Halo into an unoriginal new direction.
What I expected:
Halo 3 with new and original features, gametypes, weapons, and vehicles.
What I got:
Battlefield 3.
I think what I expected was perfectly reasonable, as every game before has done this (Including Reach).
I’m very glad that I didn’t expect anything from Halo 4 because I sure as hell would’ve been disappointed. I never had absolutely no respect towards them and the only good thing they’ve ever done is anniversary, and even that wasn’t MADE by them. When I saw the first trailer I thought “eewww! What did they do to John’s armor? Well, I’ll wait for details and see how this goes.” And when they finally released some info, I immediately knew it was gonna be bad. And when I saw the E3 demo, the first thing that came to my mind was “Oh look, Crysis!” And that’s pretty concerning coming from a long-term Halo fan whose only experience with Crysis is seeing a bunch of screenshots.
All you people who where greatly disappointed with the game after having high expectations, you have my sympathies.

Same for me.

When people expect to experience the same ffeling they had when they first played halo they where expecting to much. Also, halo 3 seems like a much betetr game because of nostalgia. If you think halo is a bad game you ahve not played the war z, big rigs etc.
I over hyped every Halo game (Except Halo 2&3) But I am satisfied with the game. Its good, but it can be a whole bunch better.
Edit: Wow. I typed in “a s- load better”, and waypoint changed it to “a whole bunch better”.
A combination of both.

word
It’s not a bad game (there are real bad games out there actually deserving of hate) and most people didn’t know what to expect or weren’t expecting much. Forum opinion =/= general consensus.
