halo 4 343 and opinion

Ok, hear me out 343, this means a lot to me,

I want to start out on a positive note. Halo 4 has a lot of features that look terrific. They are the following:

  1. Graphics look incredible. The maps are beautiful to just look at.
  2. Sound is amazing. I mean, really amazing. (except for the br though. My opinion is still out on that one)
  3. The dmr and the br is in there. Great news.
  4. Promethean weapons are very creative and feel new and fresh for halo in a good way.
  5. Campaign. Good lord campaign. Looks like the best one yet.

I am an old school halo player. Most of the other changes (aa’s, sprint, etc) I do not like. Should they be in the game? Sure, I say. Yes, they should. I love when people get to play exactly what they want. But this generosity is not being shown to everyone.

I have wrote threads before under a different name imploring the halo reach game to get no bloom and no sprint. I stopped playing halo until mlg came out with that exact playlist and then I picked up with that. But it was one playlist and I felt disappointed. I really love halo and most of what 343 and bungie brought to it but not everything.

So, bottom line, What am I asking for?

I want the changes to stay but in certain playlists. It seems the old school fans have been forgotten. Please provide a playlist or two exactly like slayer pro but with no sprint. I dislike sprint the most. That may annoy some people reading this but that is my opinion. I do not nor never have liked sprint. I don’t care for slow down mechanics for sprint either. I would just want it out completely.

I know none of the above will automatically change any decisions for 343 but I wish to express this opinion.

Sorry, if I offended anyone at 343 as that was not the point of this passage. I feel the game the way it is can be a lot of fun for a large majority of people and the hard work you guys put in it definitely shows. All I ask for is 1 or 2 playlists with no sprint in slayer pro settings. While I never played the game, I do believe strongly that those are the most fun settings for me because the gameplay would feel like the halo I played and loved in past halos.

Also, for this forum:

Please don’t flame someone for having an opinion for or against sprint, aas, etc. They are just voicing their opinion and I don’t really see it as being a right or wrong opinion. It is simply an opinion. You might as well tell someone it is wrong to like apples (or right to like them). Thank you 343 for listening.

It looks really great so far but I just wish for this one thing. Could you please add this no sprint feature for even just 1 or 2 small itty bitty playlists. It would mean everything to me for halo 4.

Sincerely,

The Empire

P.S. I know 343 must get really annoyed reading insensitive criticism letters but I hope that you see this as not an attack on 343 but rather merely a suggestion and a request. Thank you for anyone who took the time to read this and good luck in future endeavors.

Sorry, was more harsh than I should have been.

But… perhaps, let’s just try and play a new game, with homages to our “beloved” previous games, but is new, and fun, and please, for the love of gaming, let’s move on!

I won’t flame you or anything… but it looks like you’re being very closed minded about sprint.

Great post, I also no longer play Reach. I hope 343 keep the competitive side of Halo 4 (if there is one) free from AA’s and sprint, as it should be for competitive play. I also hope 343 cater to the vanilla Reach players they also add some classic playlists for those who really want Halo 3 (or even better 2) styled gameplay.

343i has worked very closely with the competitive community to ensure that all of the new features still felt viable in a competitive circumstance. Just give the default game a chance before your decide to run off to your old de-evolved playlists.

Im sure MLG will design a gametype they find suitable for competitive play at MLG Dallas, and im possitive it will be implemented into the game. until then have an open mind and some patience.

Side-lining the competitive community to one playlist is not fair to those players and is disrespectful to Halos past.

I never said they were, and they are not. 343i has done several things to attract the casual community and rebuild a fanbase, but they have put a lot of effort into pandering to the competitive community (so much even that the casual community were raised in an upset about it several months back)

AA have no place in the competitive community. Only one playlist without them is unfair. I don’t like no radar Halo but I am being forced to play MLG because I don’t like games with AA. Now I just play Halo 3. That seems like side-lining to me.

Stuck up little… oh, nevermind… You folks are being awfully presumptious and indignant, considering you don’t even know what the word ballanced means.

Ballanced? I’m afraid I haven’t heard of that word. However I have learned about the word balanced, ever heard of it?

And I’m sorry if our calm discussion offended you, care to share your opinion on the matter?
