hmmm, im wondering when we install halo 4 to our hard drive, that we can install one to our hard drive and play off the other, for example- i install the muliplayer disk to my hard drive, and play off the campaign disk (and vise versa), that all options will be available rather me switching disk when ever i want to play the other game modes.
i know other games that had 2 disk, e.g. bf3 had 2 disk but you always had to switch disk even though the other disk was installed.
i short can we we install one, play off the other without switching disk?
Wont happen. People would just sell the disc they don’t use and still be able to use it’s content.
That’s why when you install a disc to your harddrive, you still need the disc to play the content. Because people would come home, install the disc after purchasing it, and sell it to get the majority of their money back.
I don’t think it works like that but hey i’ve been wrong before. It’s a cool idea tho. My concern is whether there will be co-op campaign matchmaking. I’m excited for spartan ops but it’s still not campaign
> Judging from how much extra content there will be in the Limited Edition, I’m 75% sure that there will only be one disc anyway.
No, its confirmed.
The Limited Edition picks showed 2 discs, and said one is for campaign and one for multiplayer. It wouldn’t make sense for it to be exclusive to Limited Edition. The game, Limited and Standard, has two discs.
> Waitttttt a minute, who said there would be 2 disk?
Mighty Ape revealed some new pics of the Limited Edition.
For the game case, there is two discs. One for campaign and one for multiplayer. It isn’t exclusive to the Limited Edition either, it wouldn’t make sense if the Standard Edition was only one disc.

Well judging by the fact that the limited edition comes with 3 map packs that are yet to be released, maybe the “Multiplayer” disk will simply allow download of these future DLC packs without accessing the MS Store. Otherwise, how exactly are they going to give these maps to Legendary users for free?

You don’t need a whole other disc just to be able to let you download map packs. There will probable be a redeemable code for anyone who buys the LE, which will allow you to download the maps when their released (just like Gears of War 3’s Season Pass or Battlefield 3 Premium).

Ditto.
Also, I see only 1 picture of this, and it’s just the Limited Edition, I see no pictures of the Standard version. And the resolution is so -Yoink!- low you can’t read it.
Not believing anything until it comes from 343i.
But if they end up splitting campaign and multiplayer into 2 disc, all the more reason for me to love my PS3 more. Bluray FTW!

Unless you’re swapping between Campaign and Mutliplayer after every mission and match, I don’t see the point. If the only reason to have an installable disc is to make it so you don’t have to swap then it’s not worth the hassle.
It doesn’t take that long to switch between discs anyway. It’ll take a minute for you to pop in the disc and for the game to load up the main menu.

There isn’t even proof it’s Multiplayer and campaign… I mean come on people, Halo 2 Limited edition had 2 disk, what was the second one? A DVD. Whats the limited edition of Halo 4 have???
> Bonus in-fiction bonus content expanding the characters and stories of Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn and their connections to Halo 4
> Special Featurette: Bringing Gaming into Reality
> Making of Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn
I guess that will be mailed to us separately? Of course not, it will come on a disk.
I’m feeling like Halo 4’s two discs are going to be like Batman Arkham City Game of the Year Edition. Batman came with two discs, one was the regular game the other was all the DLC and on the DLC disc all you had to do was Install it because it gave you the option to do so when you started the disc. Then you go back to the regular disc and all the DLC has been put on there. So maybe disc two for Halo 4 is all the Map Packs and DLC stuff and we Install it to the Main Disc.
A massive ammount of content is contained in the <mark>multiplayer</mark>, so <mark>obviously</mark> it <mark>stands alone from the campaign</mark>… as long as Im not switching disc in the middle of the game It won’t bother me much.
A little info for the un informed, <mark>There is a campaign disc and a multiplayer disc</mark> in both edition, the LE will also come with a redeemable code that will unlock all content (Skins, avatar items, FUD digital copy, etc.)
But <mark>I doubt</mark> with any instaliation <mark>we will be able to play Multiplayer and Campaign off one disc</mark>, that would hurt sales drasticly.

Actually, 343 have already confirmed that those things are Waypoint Exclusive Downloads much like the Halo Reach commentary.
