Halo 4 1-50 is good, but not good enough.

So they’re adding a feature to halo waypoint next year that lets you see your halo 4 matchmaking rank.

Halo. Waypoint.

yeah that’s right, the waypoint team is doing what the halo 4 team can’t. The only problem is, it’s done through Waypoint.

So if you want to see your matchmaking rank, get this. You win a match in Halo 4. You have to exit the game and start up another game entirely (Halo Waypoint), you have to load waypoint, then wait for Waypoint to read your statistics, which, if you’ve ever USED Halo Waypoint, takes forever. After it’s done loading, you have to scroll to halo 4, the playlist you want, and THEN you can see your 1-50 rank in Halo 4.

Then, you have to exit waypoint and go back to halo 4. If you want to view your 1-50 rank while you’re in a party in halo 4? You can forget about it. you have to quit halo 4 and quit whatever matchmaking party you were in just to see your -yoink!-ing rank.

And if you want to see the ranks of your clan members you recruit? You can forget about it! The process is not going to be easy and monitoring it will be a pain.

Oh, and the best part? You’re gonna have to do it again and again and again. If you want a 50? Good luck having to quit halo 4 every 5 games just to see how your rank is doing. The process is too out of the way, too lengthy, and too bothersome and cubersome to even be useful. And the fact others won’t be able to easily see your rank is another downer.

Person 1: Aw yeah I just got a 50 in Halo 4!
Person 2: Where’s your proof?
Person 1: uhhhhhhhhhhh

OH, and heres the KICKER: You will FORGET This feature even exists!

That’s right!

If this waypoint feature EVEN LAUNCHES (they could cancel it before release), nobody is going to use it. People may for like 1 month, but after a while people will forget it exists because its so bothersome and annoying to use. Then microsoft will remove it and say “People werent using the feature so we removed it”. PEOPLE WOULD USE IT IF WE COULD VIEW OUR RANK IN HALO 4.

So yeah, the system needs work. A LOT OF IT

Waypoint is done by 343 too… the whole point of waypoint is for things like that. checking out your ranks and friends ranks.

umm… ok?

Really tired of this topic.

Were you the same person whining for a 1-50 ranking system in the first place? No one will ever be fully satisfied. If you have ANY idea of what kind of skill and intellect goes into programming and running the complex codes used for todays gaming industry you would have a little bit more respect. 343 is doing a great job considering all the things they have done for the community. The individuals comparing 343 to Bungie do not realize one simple thing, there are two completely different companies, under two different corporate missions. 343 has gone above and beyond what anyone could hope for in Halo 4. I applaud their efforts not only because I am a Halo 4 fanatic, but because I have a slight idea of the work that goes into making games, and that’s just bare bones garbage things. I cannot begin to fathom how complex this entire endeavor is.

Summary.

If you don’t like it, it’s an easy solution, don’t play it.

Thank you and goodbye

Interesting. Haven’t heard such insight on this topic yet.

You can go directly go waypoint from the halo 4 menu…learn your facts

1-50 ranking system is much better than Reach’s Arena system in my opinion of course.

Halo Waypoint is 343i, think before you post things without accurate information.

> You can go directly go waypoint from the halo 4 menu…learn your facts

…So? You can go to waypoint directly from the Halo: Reach menu as well.

Halo Waypoint is still a different game. You have to update halo waypoint if you haven’t already, then when you click ‘launch halo waypoint’ from the halo 4 menu, it loads the waypoint application and unloads halo 4.

I have my facts just straight thank you. I suggest you do your research.

Oh Lord, Not another thread about the ranking system. Now see here, they have talked about what they are doing and the majority agree’s its a good system. If you don’t like it tough. Also 343 owns Waypoint, In effect the Waypoint team is also the Halo 4 team.

Has it occured to you at all, that 343i wants to see if you guys are going to be able to handle it? Meaning that you dont throw up a number every single time someone say something to you. You should be so greatful that they are willing to work with the community on such a hot button topic. They wanted it to be hidden for a reason. Remember this, there are people out there that dont give a crap about it, so if we are in the lobby and you start talking -Yoink-, then i promise i will go through the proper channels and start a movement to get it taken away from you, i promise.

LOL as if you could sway them in any way. I would be deeply appreciative if you would refrain from speaking…

As someone who isn’t just “familiar”, but actually KNOWS, you’re full of it bro.

A ranking system can and should be implemented as an in-game visible rank. It was done in 2004 with Halo 2, it can be done in 2012 with Halo 4.

Thank you and goodbye.

Does no one have the waypoint app on their phone or tablet. If you don’t get it and save some time.

What about the website Halowaypoint ? when it gets the update. Can’t you have the website up while playing the game and when you whant to check your rank, just refresh the page ?

Use waypoint on you mobile device or computer im on waypoint on my lap top while im in a mach. So i dont even need to exit Reach in order be on waypoint.

you shouldn’t honestly care

ignorance is rage inducing i suppose
