Okay so am I the only person who thinks that the Mauler from Halo 3 should have been called the Chomper? I mean I’ve thought this ever since I played Halo 3 and it seems like nobody else thinks this, even though it seems so obvious that Chomper is a much better name for the gun than Mauler. I mean just use the thing for like 20 seconds and you’ll see why. It looks like a big, weird tooth, the sound it makes when fired sounds chompy, and the crosshair looks chompy. I don’t know why I think this and obviously Bungie knows best but still… Should’ve been called a Chomper.

Tbh Mauler is perfectly fine… It mauls the victim like a beast would maul its prey. So the name is already pretty appropriate to begin with. And Chomper is close to Chopper, so even if Chomper was brought up in a Bungie brainstorm, it likely would have been thrown out due it being too close to sounding like Chopper.

Yeah that’s true, Chomper is probably too similar to Chopper, bu they could have renamed the Chopper the Mauler, and renamed the Mauler the Chomper! Now THAT’S a good idea!

Not in Multiplayer unless the opponent is really close or has their shields down. In the Campaign though, it’s really handy against the Flood.

It’s handy against literally everything and fun af when dualed, definitely my favorite weapon 3 introduced
