Halo 3's guardian in Infinite???

It may be a placeholder since the screenshots are all still works-in-progress. 343 already kinda wrote themselves into a corner by saying in Halo Warfleet that the Guardian Custodes can’t change their appearance. Could end up being a new Sentinel variant though.

this pretty much. If anything, it’s a builder variant with a different function.

Guardian Sentinel and Guardian Construct. I can see both at once. The cut Guardian boss from Halo 3 returning is a possibility, heck anything cut to make a debut in Infinite is a win for me. Forerunner Tank anyone?

It could just be aesthetic too. Based on the history it’s likely an NPC, but they could just have lights and holograms and stuff as decor.

Maybe I’m forgetting something, but is there anything in canon that actually confirmed that to be a Guardian on Epitaph? I know outside of the games it was revealed that that was originally part of the plot, but I can’t think of anything actually in the games that confirms that that’s what that is a hologram of. Could be that it’ll be something different in Infinite.

shut up troll. why are you even bothering? Are you just gonna wait till you’re banned and sit in your greasy gaming chair and think about how much you owned everybody?

I don’t think it was ever confirmed to be a Guardian in canon no. So having the design return as something different would make a lot of sense.
I saw UH’s video yesterday and his opinion was “just ret-con it”, and honestly I wouldn’t mind if they ret-conned this, I’m sure they could come up with some cheesy excuse xD. But still I would be happy with any sort of use for this design, guardian or not.

If there going by the blend of old and new art styles then I suspect there be 2 different types of Guardians.

In case anyone on this thread hasn’t seen it, here’s the halopedia page for the cut level from Halo 3 that would have featured Guardians. Guardian Forest - Campaign level - Halopedia, the Halo wiki

I know this is VERY IMPROBABLE. But In my dreams, they would include some of this old Halo 3 era Guardian art in Infinite. Then somewhere in the next ten years, do a remake (not just remaster) of Halo 3, hiring a few people from the old bungie team as consultants (they’ve already got Joe, so like Jason Jones, Marty O Donnell,) and do a full remake of Halo 3, including all of the cut content. I played Cortana with my partner last night (her first time) and remembered just how harrowing and weird that level is. Could be pretty cool to see it remade in their original vision with more specific high charity geometry. Most importantly, adding the “Guardian Forest” level back in would not only be totally badass (it was supposed to end with a cutscene where a massive stratosentinel rises out form the forest and decimates Truth’s fleet.) But it would also tie Halo 3 in with the later Guardians storylines, they could add more terminals or audio logs to help glue it all together. A guy can dream…
