I thought it might just be me, but everyone I’ve asked confirms it’s the same for them; Halo 3’s brightness is completely messed up. Specifically, it’s way, way too bright. It’s like someone just cranked up the brightness to maximum before putting it on the disc.
In the parts of the game where you’re supposed to be in the dark and it says to turn your flashlight on, you actually don’t need to! You can see everything clearly! There are no blacks in the game, only greys.
This highlights a point I’ve already made, which is that MCC really should have proper options like brightness/gamma, sound-mixer etc, preferebly for each game.
Yeah I’ve noticed that too, as well as very very low weapon-firing volume… when I fire any weapon it sounds like shooting a water pistol, weapons don’t sound beefy at all
The increased frame rate has changed the lighting a bit

Then surely they should reduce the brightness level to compensate? Like I presume they did with the other titles?

you presume they did it with other titles, so that means its 100% fact? probably not, but the before post is right, the new fps and resolution allowed for lighting to be brighter and stronger than it used to be, literally.
Maybe the game does deserve a brightness drop im not swayed either way, but you can always turn your tv brightness down.

I presume, because all the other games’ fps and resolution have gone up by the same amount, and they all look fine. Maybe there is something different about Halo 3 that causes the increased fps and resolution to change the brightness, but either way, they should correct its brightness level.
Yes, I can always just turn my TV brightness level, but I don’t expect to have to do that every time I want to play a particular game after spending £45 on the thing…
Are my eyes deceiving me, or has Halo 3’s brightness been fixed with the latest update?
Agreed the brightness is cranked up, its horrible, they need to add in the option of an in game brightness control just like every other Halo game.
