I was watching a YouTube runthrough of the H3 campaign yesterday (MythicTyrant to be specific) and I always remember how much I adore the campaign.
So I wanted to get a thread going to talk about some of our favorite parts of H3. I’m sure this has been done before but I want some detail.
Do you have favorite lines? Favorite cutscenes? Favorite parts of the soundtrack?
Who is the best character? What is the hardest part?

My fondest memories are from working on the VidMaster Annual Achievement. I went through and did that several times with different friends. Every single time was a hilarious, amazing, and sometimes a tad frustrating but made for some of my most favorite memories in Halo 3

I love the one final effort song. All of the characters are great. The last level of the campaign is the greatest halo level ever.

I marathoned MythicTyrant’s playthroughs… lots of coffee and a frustrated wife, lol. Johnson will always be my favourite character, hands down. I’m personally only on mission 6 (yeah, my first run through), but my favourite part has been the jungle. I just love that setting, and the Cortana stuff is pretty trippy.
I just finished my first solo legendary run of the game on the 360 and that was one of the funnest/infuriating/rewarding gaming experiences I’ve ever had.

The wife came home with the kids after the end credits scene: “What’s wrong, hun?” it’s spring here, so I have a good cover story, “damn hay-fever’s flared up from the lawn being mowed”… I’m thinking she mentally called bs, lol.
my favorite cutscene is the legendary ending and the never forget theme is the best.

Yeah, I only just managed to hold back when I was watching the MythicTyrant video.
The whole game was a huge memory for me. There was not a single thing I could avidly be disappointed with. I miss the all the fun you would have, all the people you would meet, etc. Now, it’s the complete opposite.
Literally one of my favorite parts of the Halo 3 campaign, ALL OF IT.
But overall…
The Covenant, that opening cut scene, running up on the beach like Halo CE. Oh yeah! Lasering brutes down like the beast Master Chief is.
The Warthog run at the end of the campaign, literally the most fun I’ve ever had driving a Warthog. (Nothing will ever beat the Reach Warthog for me though)
Driving into covenant turrets blowing them up…
Memories, flowing back.
There was a time when I was playing with my buddy back in Jr. High, we were playing legendary on the Covenant, trying to Splaser down some of the turrets, I died, he picked up the Splaser, as soon as it shot, I spawned killing me, I picked it up, he spawned in front of me just as it went off, eventually we drained the splaser, it was so funny. We have a recording of it somewhere…

That would have been frustrating as all hell, but hilarious to watch, lol. The Warthog is the bane of my existence… I got the hang of it back with Halo 2, in the old days, it’ll take me ages to get used to it again… driving and heavy combat is when the kids strike “Dad! Dad!” lol.
