Saying i need xbox live when I already have 3 months gold but notice there over 1k online so just wondering what is happening!
Is it your main account? I hear that Halo 3 requires your main account with xbox live.
From my experience when ever there was free xbox live gold weekend days Halo 3 told me otherwise, but he other games work.
Tried quiting out of the game and re trying or hard resetting your xbox? my xbox does it now and again, not just with halo…
This account is an gold account and only account on my xbox one and plus my halo 3 disk is the original one and not that mythic disk from odst game!
Might need to reach out to Xbox Live Support on this one and see if they can help out
Can play social still.
its working now think I had to install all the maps to play on the xbox live part!
I’m having the same issue. I’m game sharing with a friend I know irl, and I have his Gold benefits, but the game won’t let me play regardless. I installed and played H4, and I could get into lobbies on that game, so why Halo 3 won’t let me do this doesn’t make sense to me.

Must be that Halo 3 requires the an account to own Gold (in other words not shared Gold). The system was probably put in place a long time ago.

I have the same problem if you come up with a solution please post it here i mite just have to buy gold instead of sharing
