Halo 3 Weird Aiming Issues/Registration

I’ve been having really weird aiming issues for several years, and I’m not sure what the deal is. It feels like aim assist is off sometimes, or the hit box size has been decreased tremendously, red reticle is non-existent, and sometimes some shots don’t hit the target entirely despite being so ridiculously close (don’t know if it’s desync issues).

I’ve seen issues like this pop up in Infinite, but for MCC specifically it’s really annoying. I noticed these problems on Halo 3 when the game launched on it’s beta release, so pretty much day 1 for PC. I’m not sure if some versions of the game are plagued, or if one can alter settings to overcome these problems, but they continue to persist. I have my drivers updated, my GPU settings optimised and no frame rate issues etc. I also ensure that I haven’t touched my keyboard/mouse when I load up the game (a common issue for loss of aim assist on Infinite, so I try to avoid this on MCC).

If there are any settings that I could adjust for the steam version I’d be willing to hear it out.

It sounds like you dont lead your shots? I’ve never heard of the issue you’re describing happening in MCC.

Not here. I extensively tested the H3 Flight on PC.

This was Infinite specific, doesn’t impact MCC (and never has).

Unless your Steam Controller settings are overwriting everything else I’m not sure. I cant tell if your settings are actually different or if you’re inexperienced in the title.

I am leading my shots, that’s why it’s freaking me out. I also watch gameplay from others and the means in which they shoot their gun is crazy, and yet the registration goes through well. The inconsistency is what’s tripping me out. I primarily notice this heavily in team snipers, it makes the problem so transparent when contrasting it to the gameplay of others.

I’m experienced in the game, I’ve had the game since launch and I’ve played the games all the way back on the 360 days. The thing is, I’ve seen players from the console version experience similar issues to myself, so I know that I’m not alone on this problem. It’s seemingly applicable to some and not others.

I do want to preface that I am also playing on a laptop, the Razer Blade 15 base. I’ll check out my steam settings, see if there’s anything that I might’ve fiddled with.
