Assuming you are asking us to choose between voting or vetoing, I like voting better.

exactly
I’d rather have Reach’s voting system but I’d want it tweaked a little. Instead of allowing players to constantly switch their vote, they should only be allowed to switch it once just in case they voted for the wrong thing.

This.
How about no voting system like Halo 2 and Halo Wars. If you dont like the map it picks get over it
Veto, i just hate playing rockets, race, infection, and so on all the time … For the beginners veto can be a good option too. They probably won’t like to meet up with teams that will always vote BR/DMR starts either. So i think that the most fair and reasonable thing to do is go for Veto, so it is a 50% chance of both. No veto/voting at all is good too.
I’d much prefer the Reach system than the H3 system.
I liked Reach’s voting system with the option of voting specifically for what map and gametype you want. But I also enjoyed H3 way of not knowing what your going to get and possibly veto a gametype to one that you didn’t even want.
Reach system but with one change. If voting ends in a draw, the game should NOT always take the first option. It’s dumb and the result is not the definition of “majority”.
Most people like voting but a vetoing system works better if there are no -Yoink- maps(reach). The reason why is that if you mix objective in to it every will always pick the best game over and over and there will be no variety such as invasion and inv slayer even if some players get bored of it as long as the majority likes it. In Halo 3 there were no -Yoink- maps or game types and the game types that can have BS are “skip after vote” so it adds variety in objective/slayer mixes. And if the percentages work right then every good map should have an equal chance and if the map didn’t fit the amount of players it would be lowered and for game types slayer should have about 50% and objective 50% depending on the playlist. Unlike reach were every map is forge world in BTB the percentages should not change based on veto data because then one map will over balance the other maps and you lose variety in other maps. Voting sounds better but in reality vetoing is better.
halo 3 nuff said
How is this even a question? The Reach system gives you more options to choose from. In Halo 3 you can veto one bad map and possibly ending up with something even worse, whereas the Reach system never forces players to play a map/gametype they don’t want to. If none of the options suit you in Reach, you get another selection, but in Halo 3 if you don’t like the options you’re nevertheless forced to play one.
Honestly, I can’t believe this is up for debate. It’s an honest-to-god no-brainer.
vetoing because with the voting system people always choose the same maps over and over
looks at hemmorage and sword base
Also, Halo 3 loaded the map, then let players choose whether or not they wanted it. Which is one of the dumbest things I’ve seen outside of creationism.

The constant switching is annoying. Just give people 1 pick. Easy as that.
Keep the Reach style voting system, but add a 5 second delay to prevent people from spam switching their votes back and forth. Also, if the votes are a tie, the game should automatically pick a random map and gametype instead of just selecting the gametype that was on the top of the list by default.

Do you mean “random from the top-voted options”? Because it should definitely be one of them, they are what the majority voted for. Maybe there could be a re-vote with everybody only allowed to pick one of the top-voted options?
i dont even know how this is a debate its like:
halo 2 play what you see
or
halo 3 vetoing
for real, why is this thread even here
