Halo 3 Turns 14 Today!

From 2007 to 2010, 11.5 billion matchmade games were played. That is almost double the entire human population. That alone is testament to how crazy popular the game was in its golden years. And it’s not even taking into account all the Custom Games that people played.

Halo 3 will always be my all time favorite game.

Wow, I kinda remember the marketing behind this game. I still have the Slurpee cups and an empty Game Fuel bottle somewhere!

You couldn’t walk anywhere without seeing some form of advertisement for the game, lol. So many promotional products, TV spots, and trailers.

Lol when i stepped into a shop there was these drinks that loads of people were buying because it was sponsored by halo 3, it had a halo 3 picture on it.
Edit: just searched up halo 3 drink and its the mountain dew halo 3 edition

The game where it all started for me.

Perfect marketing, perfect launch, perfect post-launch support. Can’t have asked for a game to be handled better than what Bungie did with H3. Happy Birthday to a legend of a game. It has had such a positive impact on pop culture!

100% agree, mate. Not to mention it had the perfect Legendary edition. Sure, the Noble Team statue is nice, but there is something about the Mark VI helmet I love much more.

Agreed, that helmet was sweet. I would have loved it if they made it life-size, but at least a bunch of cats got in on the fun with the way it was sized.

14 years old! My golly I can’t believe it but I still can! I’ve loved playing Halo 3 since day 1.

The game came out while I was in High School. Amazing local LAN parties through all four years!

Happy birthday Halo 3

I feel like I remember reading one time that Microsoft put $40 million into advertising for Halo 3.

Just remembered the whole Museum of Humanity tv spots and website with that interactive walkthrough of the diorama. Here’s a trailer from back in the day~
