So, any thoughts on it? Personally, I would like it if we had a permanent Classic Playlist. I think this would really help the community by giving some of the veterans (like me:been playing since Halo 2) something to really enjoy.
I love it, but this late in the games age, I believe its critical to keep everything how it is now. With 1 playlist cycling a special gametype. You dont want to saturate the population more then it already is.
One of the biggest problems with H5 MM is that there’s never really been a permanent social arena playlist that was any good. To my mind that sort of playlist would be the most enjoyable for casual play.
I enjoy it, as a player from the classic era it’s fun to take a break from the Spartan Abilities. I also think this time around it feels better than when they first released the throwback playlist. I think they did some work between the first time and now, and I like the changes.
Total waste of time and effort the play list is missing the one thing that everyone talks about when remanissing about halo 3 “the battle rifle” it’s earnt legendary status amongst halo players who like me have been playing since the start of the franchise, I don’t understand how I can find one on a H5 game map but not on the the game it originated on, if only the whole experience was available to players, yet again 343 missed a good opportunity to get people to enjoy the full experience and then go and buy the MCC
gutted.
I’m enjoying it. I wish it was permanent, because I would probably play more often. As someone else stated, it fills that social playlist void nicely
I love the maps and I’m glad that they gave us the Halo 5 BR w/ classic scope since I think it’s the most appropriate replacement within Halo 5 for Halo 3’s BR, but I personally would prefer to play with all of the Spartan Abilities enabled or at minimum at least Sprint and Clamber enabled; however, that of course would make it a more of a Modern Throwback playlist instead of a Classic Throwback playlist – I guess I would just prefer a Modern Throwback over a Classic Throwback.
I enjoy the game-type a lot. It is nice to play like that again and it really shows how much better i have gotten since those days.
I can honestly say that Halo 5’s abilities (thrust, clamber, stabilize) has drastically improved my map movement and i have really seen that with my map movement in this playlist. On top of that, playing against all of these people who have never played on Guardian, Pit, etc before is fun. I’m surprised we don’t have threads complaining about the lack of timers for Power Weapons (primarily on The Pit). I have gotten sniper, rocket, camo multiple times.

What do you mean, the game-type is BR starts and the BRs on map are in the same locations as Halo 3
Its actually pretty fun, and not that sweaty for me
Love it
I love the idea of it being permanent. I haven’t played it much, but what I have played of it, I enjoyed. It was only a bit confusing since I played it the day after I was playing Halo 3 on MCC with my friend. Since I don’t own a copy, my button layout was weird so I messed up with the controls. Besides that though, I absolutely loved it!
It’s meh to me. The H5BR just has a really bad feel. When I want classic play I play MCC, which I have been doing for like a week now.

The H3 BR is the last thing I would be reminiscing about. And I’m not sure how you can’t find one, since you start the match with one, and they’re placed on the maps in the same locations as they were in H3.
It’s really fun, up to the point where it crashes my game when trying to find a game lol. Then I have to restart the console and its not guaranteed that it will work again for hours. But other than that, I think its a really fun playlist and brings back a lot of memories that I had playing Halo 3.

H3 BR is legendary status? O_o

The other day I played with a guy in this playlist who I don’t think has ever played Halo before. He had a friend helping him out, but he was genuinely screaming out of excitement when getting kills or doing something that he thought was crazy. It was fun to listen to and it reminded me about the old times.
I like it, feels pretty good to play and less annoyance from SA.

Woah buddy. Don’t speak for everyone. I’ve been playing since CE, and don’t get me wrong, I like the playlist.
But honestly I like the H5 mechanics better. Once you take off the goggles the H3 gameplay really isn’t that great.
I like it better than standard Halo 5, but the weapons aren’t balanced for it and it’s really noticeable.

I don’t think he was speaking for everyone. I played H3 without goggles on and I don’t think it’s that bad. A few of the maps/gametypes aren’t that great, but most of the issues that I’ve noticed seem to stem from it being H3 in an H5 game.
