I think Halo 3 had one of the greatest endings ever! Although, it was very sad. Sgt. Johnson died
Anyone who thinks Halo 3 had the best ending in the history of all games, SAY SO!
I must say, I literally despised Halo 4’s ending. There was not much emotion. A game’s ending is worthless without EMOTION! I think if Bungie had made Halo 4, it would have been the greatest game of the 22nd to 29th century.
Red Dead Redemption ending is unmatched.
And some of those poll options suck nuts.
What if I thought it was just ‘good’?
I really liked how Bungie tied up the series and gave Chief his “hero’s death” while having us know that Chief was actually still alive.
Some of your poll options are pretty biased.
Halo 3 AND 4 endings were both great and emotional.
The symbolism in Halo 3’s ending was powerful, and part of me wishes that 343 Industries never tried to touch it. Think about it for a second. The franchise started with that seminal moment - bringing the Master Chief out of his frozen sleep to be set loose on the Covenant. The first game ended with Cortana saying “It’s finished”, and Master Chief responding “No… I think we’re just getting started.”
Master Chief did not return to that frozen sleep again. He fought and broke the Covenant, and he ended the Gravemind threat. Now he’s floating in space, the battle won. He knows he’s prevailed. “Truth, the Covenant, the Flood… It’s finished.” And John replies “It’s finished.” He knows that the battle is won this time. His task is done. He is going back into the hushed casket, back to his frozen sleep. It’s great symbolism. Halo 4 took it too literally, though I know they had no choice.

HALO 3 is the greatest game… ever! I’ve played so much Halo (been playing since 2002) and enjoyed many games but none have passed the fun and value I had with Halo 3.

Dying a cold, lonely death where no-one will ever find him is certainly not the right kind of death that Master Chief deserves.
Halo ended with halo 3. I wish 343 made side stories rather than muck master chiefs story up
3 would of ended if 343 did not come in
Yeah, hood’s speech was very memorable.
I like Reach’s ending the best personally.
Halo 3 ending is best ending in Halo games.
