Firstly I appologize if this is a stupid question. I’m playing through the Halo 3 campaign and have a few questions about what I just witnessed in game.
1.) Is the hivemind now on Earth? Where did the giant flood tentacles come from after the flood help you to stop the halo rings .
2.) Was that a new Halo ring that rose out of Earth? If so then why does it exist?
3.) The terminals, are they logs between the Librarian(?) and Dedact? What events are they referencing?
Again, I am sorry if these are stupid questions but I’m stumped.

No; the Gravemind itself never landed on Earth. The Flood landed on the Ark using High Charity and from the crash site, the Gravemind likely sent its tentacles into the underground passages of the Ark to get to the Ark’s control room.

Yes, it was a new ring. It exists to replace the ring Chief destroyed in Halo CE. The Halo Array needs 7 rings to fully cover the whole galaxy, so the Ark makes replacement rings anytime a ring gets damaged beyond repair. Also note that the second half of Halo 3 doesn’t take place on Earth; it takes place on the Ark, which is a separate location. They get there by flying through the big portal you see on Earth.

The terminals in Halo 3 cover a variety of events and conversations. Some of them are between Didact and Librarian. Some are between Mendicant Bias and the Gravemind. Some are between Guilty Spark and an unnmamed AI that was later stated to be the Ark’s monitor. Multiple events are covered in the terminals, such as the defection of Mendicant Bias, the Librarian getting stranded on Earth, Offensive Bias defeating Mendicant Bias, etc.
