Halo 3 Spartan laser return?

We’ve had the Halo CE magnum. We’ve had the Halo 2 BR. Will we get something from Halo 3? I’m thinking the laser for two reasons. 1.) It is when the laser was invented and it is one if the more iconic weapons of Halo 3. 2.) The laser in halo 5 is a bit of a disappointment and can’t seem to hit anything consistently so if we got a halo 3 laser that was actually effective then it would be pretty sweet

I have never seen a single weapon get so consistently nerfed with each iteration.

I would LOVE for the Halo 3 Laser to be a Mythic Legendary REQ or something. Each Laser just seems to get worse and worse at what it’s supposed to do.

they should just reduce the duration of the laser, so you can kill on foot spartans again.

Yea, even though balanceing wise the splazer is a weapon I fear, it has lost a lot of power over the last few games. Halo 4 had amazing sounds for it though, I want that back! :slight_smile:

I’d honestlly approve of a brute shot/mauler/spiker from Halo 3 instead of a Spartan laser.

The charge time is fine, it’s the fact that you can hit people who are moving with a laser and still not get the kill.

The damage itself needs a buff.

Can’t believe you say the splaser is weak and useless.

yea I meant the duration the laser actively has to hit the spartan needs to be reduced, currently it feels almost like the binary rifle

I have to agree. The different versions of the Spartan Laser from Halo 3, 4 and Reach were useful. The version in Halo 5 is just so inconsistent that I would rather use a railgun, sniper rifle or the DMR to take out an enemy vehicle.

Seriously though, 4 shots? Does less consistent damage than the rockets, can’t be used against Spartans unless there dumb or facing away. Needs to return to 10 shots , remember when there was a splaser spree medal? Like unless you destroy vehicles with passengers now it’s impossible.

I’d like it if the numbers required for the commendation were reduced, I can see it taking me a long time.

The reason the laser is disappointing is because spartans can move much more quickly now. Although, it does need a an increase in damage against vehicles.

I would like to see a lot of halo 3 weapons return!

I’ve altered a bit of my view from a previous post on this;

Considering nearly everything else has changed for the better, the S.Laser feels left behind and either variants are much better suited for the gameplay at hand than the default.
Yes, it’s meant as an anti-vehicle/boss weapon… Archaic in its attempt it now feels due to “over-balancing.”

The default S.Laser can keep its charge/cooldown times but it should have 5 potential shots, do small sustained damage with the targeting laser (as it drains slowly) and have hits register more like the H3 Splaser did.
I like the idea of a shot draining in % chunks instead of overall %, similar to how the H4 Boltshot could overcharge a shot on just 1 ammo but always used up to 5 if available.

Endgame should have 8 shots, do no damage with its targeting laser but pretty much keep everything else as it is, except ensure its weakened shot fires more like the “new” default laser.

Selene’s Lance should have 6-7 shots if it stays as is, but with a slight increase in charging laser damage over the default one. If the recoil is reduced, or each laser pulse is increased in damage, it should have 5-6 shots.

This could make the S.Laser feel more in-line with H5’s sandbox (of course, IMO).
