Riddle me this. Why does the Halo 3 soundtrack consist of mostly remixes of tracks from the first two games? I can only assume that Marty was explicitly told to do this, since the tracks in subsequent releases (ODST, Reach) were completely original. It’s probably the least interesting Halo score.

Maybe since Halo 3 was the end of the first saga, they wanted to make a remix of the other soundtrack as a fitting way to close the first trilogy.
While Halo 3 was being created, Halo 3: Odst was in production under project name: Halo 3: Recon? I believe at the time. It is most likely the case that they remixed the soundtracks to keep the theme in line with the previous Halo’s and so that Marty had the time to work on the composition of Halo: ODST.
