Halo 3 should be the standard for Halo 4

I’m completely serious. I would much rather see Halo 4 be like Halo 3, then take after Halo Reach. Halo Reach was the worst game in the series, I’m surprised how many people refer to it as “fun” on here and claim that Halo 4 should “Continue with the changes” When it was honestly the game we all hated, and we were anticipating Halo 4, and hoping it would fix all the problems we had with Reach and go back to the original formula.

Honestly I think Halo CE, Halo 2, Halo 3 were truly great Halo games. Why? Because I found that both myself, and the greater community, were able to love all of these games for their entire runs up until the next release.

I always thought to myself “Halo Reach sucked so bad compared to 1, 2, and 3. I hope 4 makes Halo not suck anymore.” (then I found out it’s like Reach). now Halo 4 is coming. I think “OMG another Reach I HATE REACH.”.

Have you all forgotten bloom? Armor Abilities? Health packs? Fall damage? Arena? Jet-packs (AKA ruin maps central)? All the crap you had to put up with? I haven’t. And I don’t want any of that stuff to make it’s way into Halo 4 either.

I’ll admit, Halo 4 looks even worse then Reach. But in the end, Reach shouldn’t be what Halo 4 lives up to.

Oh look, another one of these topics.

With a username like yours, I’m not even surprised.

Great logic

And a very helpful post

How can you judge anyone by what there Gamer Tag is

bloom, health packs, and arena are out. perks and loadouts are in. movement speed and jump height have been increased.

based on this i think halo 4 will be a better game than reach, but it won’t come close to halo 2/3 unless it features a skill based ranking system that gives an incentive to win.

oh look, you said the truth this time.

basically, all the halo games that have halos gameplay working well, AKA 1, 2 and 3 should be the standard for which halo 4 should be scrutinized against because they have been what defines halo.

i don’t care if they’re trying to take the franchise in a new direction, the fact is that it is a halo game and thus should stay a halo game not completely change into something else with the same weapons.

Especially since this is 1 of 2 satire accounts me and my friend made for Halo 3 a long time ago.

If anyone bothers to look what my profile says on Xbox LIVE you’ll see that.

Way to copy a thread and change the words OP. I do agree with you to some extent, but you have to know you can’t get rid of these things.

Yes, we did put up with a lot of crap, so why don’t we instead find a way to make these changes livable?

AA weren’t a terrible idea, how they were introduced and which ones were introduced were terrible.

Contradictory statement: Halo CE, Halo 2…

Halo ce had health packs like reach did, no dice on that OP. It also had fall damage, no dice OP. It also had bloom on all automatic weapons, no dice OP.

Jetpack and arena were bad, we get that. Halo 4 looking worse than reach is your opinion. But through most lack of bloom, better movement and hit registration, no armor lock and a toned down jetpack combined with halo 3 style gameplay: Halo 4 looks a lot better than reach.

Obviously, but the difference is they actually complimented that game and worked well. Where they worked horribly with Reach.

Also the bloom in CE isn’t even comparable with Reach. No dice Silent.

A thread on here I can agree with. Thank you.

It should be like Halo 4.

How about halo 4 just uses its own standards and learn from past mistakes made in ce, 2, 3, and Reach?

> How about halo 4 just use its own standard and learn from past mistakes made in ce, 2, 3, and Reach?

then it wouldn’t be halo.

halo 4 should exceed the standard, push the standard forwards, raise the bar higher and so on, currently it looks like its struggling to keep up though.

murder miners meats the standard better at the moment … O_o

Halo 4 should be the standard for Halo 4.
Can we stop living in nostalgia and let the gaming franchise(s) move on?

How does “setting its own standards” not constitute “setting the bar higher”?

Everything that wasnt a grenade launcher worked horribly in reach.

Reach probably would have been a good deal better were they not trying to make it like Halo Combat Evolved.

The only difference with the bloom in CE to reach, is that in CE if you feathered the trigger instead of held it down, the bloom was less effective.

Go into CE and hold down the trigger on the magnum, and compare that to a feathered shot: Bloom.

because it isn’t setting new standards but raising the bar.

Bloom is still in.
4 will also have a ranking system similar to 1-50, but not 1-50. Along side a Reach-like cR system too.

Halo 3?

Yeah it was good, very good in fact but Halo 4 looks, feels and just is better than 3.

Just my opinion from what I’ve seen and played.

Ah you haven’t played and you know it’s like reach. your ignorance makes me sick. people like you would make every game like 3. Which is why you should keep playing it. 343i shouldn’t copy and paste or they’ll get flamed more than they do now by people just like you. But anyways I hope you stay in 3 and miss out on 4
