Halo 3 has theater. You can load any given film and count your shots that hit a dude and you’ll realize that half your four shots don’t count. It’s bad.

Halo 3 is not even close to the hardest to be good at. Halo: CE takes infinitely more skill lol. While Halo 2 does not take more skill in regards to aiming, the button combos in the OG Xbox version easily push the skill gap in Halo 2 farther than Halo 3.

I agree with you dancy. I see others’ point sin the button glitches adding some skill gap- but BxR’ing is very easy and double shotting is very situational and usually isnt really something to be used a lot. I rarely double shot even though I can… The BR shots so fast in H2 anyways, just take your time and get the easy 4 shot because H2 BR is very easy to use.
Halo 3’s BR will always be the hardest to use and allows for the greatest skill gap between players since good people can 4-5 shot, average players 6-8, and bad players 9+ based on my observations and tens of thousands of games played of Halo 3.

It is pretty bad, but i feel like lag is the biggest culprit. WHen the connection is good, I have nearly zero isues with that at all.
Get Dedi’s and good internet conection. Problem fixed. Nothing wrong with projectile system.
i had a buddy over from cali and he wanted to play a few games and of course he wanted halo 3. he stopped after a few matches when he realized 4 shotting isnt a thing anymore. he was asking where his bullets were going. even a guy standing still didnt flicker. halo 3 in MCC is crap.

Well it’s very rare that I get a good connection. The shot registration isn’t this bad due to lag on Xbox 360. It seems lag is exponentially worse in Mcc. Hardcore is not really playable for me
H2 BR is even worse than H3 for me. H2A and H4 work best for me.
There’s something DEFINITELY off about the H3 hit detection on the MCC. I’ve played about 6000 games of H3 and a few hundred now on the MCC. It’s just frustrating.

I’m sorry but you are missing your shots. Halo 4/2A both work off the Halo 4 engine, and have very high bullet magnetism. The games are “correcting” your shots.

I think some people that complain are probably missing shots due to lack of leading or understanding the projectile system. However, I will admit there are times where I rage in games where a kid is absolutely no shields and i have to 3 shot him at medium to close range watching blood squirt off his head… so i understand the rage at times.
Once they get Halo 3 updated to the TU2 then we can actually have a fair discussion on it. As it sits right now Halo 3 is on original code. If anyone remembers all the way back to 2007 they had issues with it. It wasn’t terrible but it did take Bungie a bit to get the beautiful polish that we all know and love on the game.
Halo 3 just has a faulty hit detection system. It’s awful and latency dependent. For a good projectile system look at something like CE or plants vs zombies garden warfare. Both have good working projectile systems.
Unfortunately this won’t get fixed either because that’s how the original played. The 60 fps made it worse but it’s always been bad.

Why do people keep spreading this baseless crap? The game is updated. Do you not remember the little glitches in the original halo 3? Like the broken melee system, or how killing someone with a melee sometimes sent their body flying through the air. The game is not in the original released state, stop spreading this misinformation.

Yup. Melee trades weren’t in the launch version and were added later on. Like you said, I don’t see how people can’t see this. They’re just making up excuses and it’s kind of sad.
SHOULD have recorded this the other day. But I was in a strafe duel with a dude on H3 Assembly. I literally shot the air next to him as he moved back and forth, never once pulling the trigger when the reticle was actually red. Possibly flukey but… a perfect four shot hahah… He strafed perfectly into my shots for me. This was at around 20 guestimetres range, from the top of one of the ramps to one of the base archways.

Don’t reply if you don’t know what you’re talking about. The framerate did affect the hit detection. You can read how the system works. Go play CE and you’ll realize how bad halo 3’s system is.
