Is it a known or common issue for shot registration to be off for Halo 3 in MM? Is this just a MCC issue? I don’t remember it being quite like this back on 360. I know Halo 3 has always been a bit trickier to aim but last night I was on the spot every game except when I played Halo 3, it just felt off. My friends in my party thought the same thing.
Yeah H3 is trash on mcc
Hitscan vs. projectile. This is one of the many reasons I avoid H3.
By upping Halo 3’s fps, it has altered the shot registration.
I think it’s a combination of the already bad hit registration from Xbox 360’s Halo 3 plus upping it to 60 FPS you’re changing the amount of frames when everything connects and interacts, which makes it worse.
its hard but rewarding when you out br noobs. H3 takes the most skill in aim/using a BR because it is projectile.
I’ve noticed that too many times and thats probably the reason why I dislike h3 maps but still play them if voted for but there are a few which I like playing regardless. It does pisses you off though at times.
I realize this myself sometimes, especially when I use ranged weapons like the Sniper Rifle or even the Battle Rifle. Sometimes I’ll even see the blood come out the other player’s spartan without affect. MOST FRUSTRATING THING EVER! It makes me sad that its in Halo 3, my favorite Halo game on the list.

> Halo 3 is sluggish for me, and feels like it’s due to internet latency, but it’s not. I’ve adjusted to the weirdness though, and it’s easy once you get used to it. Going from 30 to 60 effects people in certain ways.
> Halo 2 just doesn’t even work for me, in the UK. I avoid Halo 2 every time I play, which is annoying because I bought the MCC to relive those days.
> Halo 4 works perfectly, but the game has so much aim-assist it can screw up my sniper shots.
> H2A works well, but it ain’t Halo 2.
> I don’t even bother with Halo CE as I just get team-killed endlessly, and it never lets me kick people. CE is by far the most laggy though.
WUT???
auto aim plus bullet magnetism = harder to snipe?
I laugh at the ease of using the halo 2 anniversary or Halo 4 sniper rifle in comparison to Halo 3. Halo 2C had a lot of auto aim, but the bullets at least didnt curve!!! I loved snipers in H2C and H3… then they got dumbed down so the common folk could get headshots easily.
Halo 3’s bullet spread BR, lack of hitscan weapons, and shield damage visuals combine to really give the players -Yoink- for feedback. It’s really hard to tell if you’re suffering from poor registration or you’re simply missing because of the game’s mechanics.

the damage visuals are fine for me, players do light up. The random bullet spread is the one thign I don’t like which can screw you. I actually like the projectile system though
The frame rate change was a bit of an adjustment, and yes it seems slightly off to the 360 version, but it’s not off by much. It does take a lot of practice.
Back in the day, Halo 3 would have hundreds of thousands of players online, so the skill variety was incredible. Today, a much lower population means the more dedicated, experienced players are the ones left playing. So in part, the game is more difficult, but so is your average opponent.
Halo 3 is the game that requires the most skill, yet a nice connection can help tremendously. Biggest thing is just be patient, the kills will come. We all have our on and off days as well.

You got that right!
ANd you are right, it is still easy to play on mcc its really not that bad… people just like to complain about something
.
The BR in halo 3 is awful combined with the horrible netcode.
You can really see how bad of a game halo 3 is in comparison to halo 2 in the mcc because you can play the two side by side. Don’t get me wrong, halo 2 has its flaws (noob combo, too much aim assist), but it’s a much faster and more consistent game. Don’t even get me started on equipment and third person weapons in halo 3. I will say that halo 3 had the best frag grenades in all of halo.
Don’t get me wrong, I love halo 3, but it feels horrible next to halo 2.
I used to love playing Halo 3, but I find the hit registration so bad on MCC. It really is a sad thing, it used to be so good, but with all this mess it has fallen so. I remember a few months after MCC came out I hopped back on Halo 3 to see how many people were still on (around 6000 at that time I think), and it played perfectly. Frame rate was weird, but that game played great, unlike is Xbox One counterpart.
I find the shot registration to be the same on the Xbox one and 360. It just feels bad compared to the other games on the mcc, so people think it’s worse than the 360 hit registration.

Agree 100 % with frag grenade comment. Respectfully disagree with you belief on the br though. Halo 2 anniversary plays slower than halo 3 and halo 4 without sprint would too… I have never really had much of an issue with movement speed in mlg settings which is 110% speed.

I agree, I can’t stand h2a and halo 4. I can’t decide if I like halo 1 or 2 the best, but halo 3 is a very close second for me. I hate the other halos.
