Hello. First off, I’ll start by saying that I can’t play matchmaking or load fileshares/service records. With that bummer out of the way, there are some interesting services that do still work for me that I’d like to share with others if interested!
-ALL playlist information is currently loading for me (EXP and Trueskill rank for each playlist)
-Seventh column symbol still presents in lobby next to my gamertag
-Recon is still available for me! (NOT using software modification)
There may be a few other interesting things that I can do that may be of interest that I haven’t found yet.
All of this is possible because I have yet to shut off my 360. It’s been running the game since the 11th or 12th of this month. I’m just now posting this because I wasn’t aware I might be the only one left with usable Recon and the ability to view all ranks within the matchmaking lobby. So far, after playing with dozens of people after the servers shut down, they all confirm they can not see what I can see if I am not present in the lobby.
If anyone would like to join my lobby and see their ranks one last time (or Recon haha), let me know!! I’m not sure how much longer my 360 will last, so I want to share this with people as much as possible.

This is all due to these modes using Peer to Peer, which means your console acts as the server and other consoles can connect to said server.
That’s also why the Reach Demo still has Matchmaking running, there’s a console among them (lol) that’s acting as the server and all the other consoles pile on.

I think this is mostly true. What I can’t figure out is whether or not my console still has some connection to these legacy servers, or if it just allows profiles to display ranks that are saved within their gamertag’s H3 profile (local data, not server data). Maybe someone knows more here about how it’s stored?
i kinda think that he just hasnt emptied his cache on his 360, because it wasnt restarted all this time.
As for Halo Reach Demo, it only works online because 343i or Bungie never hosted the actual matches on their servers in the first place.
All that is done by the Xbox Live server and all the Bungue/343i 360 servers were, were just data storage servers, but in Halo Reach Demo, all the data, which the Xbox Live servers need to start a match (like player data, location, service records, maps ect.) are all already baked in to the game, so theres no need for Xbox Live to even look somewhere else.
That is also the reason why Custom games still work even after the “sunsetting”, because all the data thats needed in a custom match (primarily the “custom” map), is already in the game.
Thats my theory based on everything ive seen so far, but i could also be completely wrong about this lmao.

Still going! Some bad news though: the game is stuck on a scoreboard screen (will not exit to lobby post-game).
Xbox still running fine, so I’m disappointed Halo 3 has had this error after all this time. I’m not sure what could’ve caused it, other than leaving it on for so long lol.
If anyone has any ideas for exiting the scoreboard screen without dashboarding or signing out, let me know!
i know it’s been over a month but how are things going? I’m certain you have turned off the 360 you are using but you deserve to be more notable for staying on Halo 3 and being able to see ranks until at least the end of Febuary, you get my congratulations
