At some point in 2015. They actually did it quite often after they took over Halo in 2012.

Halo 3 Matchmaking is down again
H3 down for me also, just in time for Easter…
Halo 3 has been down for me since last night around 9 pm central.
Anyone know any info on whats going on?

hello? anybody out there?! i pay xbox live to play halo 3 (and other halo titles) on my days off. you could at least tell us why we cant enjoy what we payed hard earned money for.
