halo 3 servers down 3/27/2013

I went on matchmaking this morning and it was up, around 11 a.m. it just keeps saying information could not be retrieved from halo 3 servers.

i have gotten messages from some other halo 3 players saying the servers are down for good,…

…IS THIS TRUE?
or are the servers just down temporarily?

They’ve said nothing about shutting down the Halo 3 servers, so I doubt it’s for good. Probably just a glitch in the servers.

You realize how many people including me would be upset if 343 shut down the Halo 3 servers right?

i realize that, however it doesnt change the fact that the servers are currently down and no reason is known

I was on an hour ago and it was fine. I did wonder why I got an update when I started the game.

yea, its back up now, just weird that 343 didn’t even bother to mention anything about it.

Halo 3’s servers wont shut down until online support for the Xbox 360 ceases. Its the same situation as with Halo 2, which was only shut down when online support for the original Xbox ceased.

When online support for the xbox 360 ceases, all will go with it.
And things like spartan ops will never be playable, like, ever again!
Which is kinda sad…

I hope that is the case. After seeing closures from EA, I do get worried, but since this is Microsoft and 343’s baby now, there’s re-assurance in that too. Halo 2 PC tho? If H3 numbers drop, they could pull the plug to save costs… never know.

This was months ago, you didn’t need to revive this thread. If the servers are down, wait it out or make a new thread bringing it to attention.

Online services for halo 2 were just down 3 months afternxbox live was gone
