I personally would like to see 343 REMAKE Halo 3. Not an anniversary edition. I think it would be cool if 343 did something similar to the Resident Evil Remake from 2002. Take the original story in a slightly different direction, but still end the same way to not mess up the lore. With a REMAKE, 343 could give the game a more dark and gritty feel to the story, really capturing the need to survive against all odds. Additionally, they could create new Flood monsters, and really use the upgraded hardware to make the environments really stand out. This would mean all new voice acting and cutscenes. They could even add in new weapons and characters too if they wanted to.
Think of the original Mad World trailer for Gears of War 1 (2006). Remember the feeling of desperation and hopelessness conveyed just from the trailer? Then when the game launched, the game play and graphics sealed the deal. If a Halo 3 Remake could do something similar, it would be truly legendary. Personally, if 343 did a REMAKE, I would prefer they take the game in a more mature and dark direction than the original. Just my opinion.
Anyone agree or disagree? Any other cool ideas for a REMAKE versus just a remaster?

All of your ideas could easily be used in a new Halo game (preferably Halo 6). But to completely remake Halo 3 from teh ground up? It’s not necessary. The game may not have the most amazing story of all time, but it still holds up really well, and looks good even today.

Most amazing story? H3s story is the second worst with H5s being the worst. Sgt. Johnson went from being a super bad@$$ in H2 to a damsel in distress in H3. MCs random Cortana visions were really annoying. And the flood was really shoehorned into the game just to make it longer.
Remake would be so much better than anniversary
I think 343 could retain the epic large scale battles with the scarabs and also keep the original score, but at the same time make encounters with the flood more gritty. I still play Halo 3 in MCC regularly. I love the campaign. It has the best campaign missions IMO. But I still think a REMAKE would be more better than just an anniversary edition.
Let’s be clear, they will re-release Halo 3. Have no doubt about it. It will happen; it’s just a matter of how they decide to do it. I would like to see more than just new cut-scenes from Blur.
i’d rather have the anniversary. the music, the graphics, the campaign and story line made halo 3 a very memorable game.
Eh I prefer they don’t change the actual game. If they should add anything new, save it for future titles in my opinion.
