I don’t like the new ranking system. It doesn’t take any skill. But I do like it that you get credits, and you can buy stuff with them. I would like to see the halo 3 ranking system (or a similar one) + the whole credit system.
w/l is terrible. Are you seriously telling me the guy who spent the last 12 minutes grenading himself to death deserves xp just because the rest of his team was competent? TBH no skill based ranking system works outside of FFA.
I don’t mind the credit system, but payouts need an overhaul. This “rewarding a player for just sitting in a game” has got to stop. I’d much rather see a payout system that rewards players for completing objectives, winning, and helping teammates… while punishing players for dying too often and doing nothing. This way everyone can eventually rank up, but the better team players will rise to the top in fewer games. Idlers and people that just coast through games will take forever to rank up. People that sit in games and do nothing… should lose credits. If it’s a guest doing nothing, then the main account should be responsible for the players he brings into matchmaking… and the main account should be penalized. In other words, if your guests suck… play customs. Don’t submit other players, that got stuck with them because of your rating, to that kind of crappy gameplay.

Yes, because in the long-run that “guy grenading himself” will win MUCH less games than someone who is good.
-Yoink- happens, you can’t just look at one game and claim absolute injustice.
You have to stop being so short-sighted and look at how it works in the long-run.
Example:
40% W/L with 1000 games = 400
80% W/L with 1000 games = 800
Better person gets twice the XP.
@Meesterchief they are keeping the system exactly the same for Halo CEA because Halo CEA is Reach multiplayer. This is not a bad idea and can be used for Halo 4 but don’t place this kind of post under Halo CE or Anniversary

And I also think that you don’t have to win to get a higher level. You should also recieve xp for individual performances.
I hate the credit system. the only way I can see “buying armor permutations” as a good thing, is if the armor permutations normally require achievements. that way, you can get them all without being an achievement -Yoink!-, but it will take you longer to get them using credits.
having teirs of aesthetics was lame, I don’t care what tier it is, I just want to look cool, I don’t want to be a general just so I can use something I think looks nice aestheticly, I just want to be able to use it. if it’s attached to a reward, than don’t require tons of game hours to get it. sheesh.
I think they NEED to bring back ranks from 1-50. I keep going back to halo 3 solely for that reason. In reach i get no satisfaction from winning. Its “oh we won/lost, whatever”. I know it has many flaws but it what makes halo 2/3 fun. I really could care less about exp “ooh can i has armor upgrades?!” PLEASE 343 bring back 1-50 RANKS!!!
I would love to see Shishka add in the same XP per play list as halo 3 had. At least it would make you feel like your achieving something once you reach inheritor
