Recently I jumped on OG Halo 3 to play some multiplayer. I was waiting roughly 20 min before I got into Social Slayer. I went to ranked slayer and waited 30 minutes and saw no one. Is it even possible to find ranked matches anymore?
The ranked playlists are pretty dead at this point, I can only really find social team slayer games nowadays, you’ll probably see some playlists kick up in player count a little towards the end of the year when people jump on before they shut down the legacy Halo servers.
It depends on your rank. I believe H3 only pairs you with people who have a rank with within 10 of yours, so you will have some trouble finding ranked matches with such a small population.
Yup you can only be matched up with other players who are within 10 ranks of your rank.

The best time to look for Social Slayer matches are probably in the evenings and on weekends.
If I’m not mistaken I think bungie shut down all the og halo servers.

You can find people in Lone Wolves sometimes. Like afternoon on weekends.

Yea I gave up years ago, I returned last year to see if I could ever get my lone wolves rank up to 50 considering at got kind of close back in the day. I only ever found a single match after several days of trying for an hour or so and I lost hard. I can only imagine how much more dead it is now.
It’s sad but it was bound to happen eventually and it has been 13.5 years.
