As of now the population is the highest I’ve seen halo 3 have since Halo 4 has came out, right now it’s 8.4 thousand players online! I’m pretty impressed. Keep playing

The population for BTB actually got up to 144 or so a few days ago. I was able to play a glorious match of MCTF on sandtrap for the first time in a while.
I tried to play a few matches the other day and the lag was atrocious. Are hosts generally more reliable on weekends?

I don’t know why but I think the pop count is stuck for me, hasn’t changed in a week but I’ve recently got back into Halo 3 and love it, I forgot how good this game is!
Yes, I think Halo 3, as well as Reach, are more “playable” on weekends, when there are more people playing.
Im diong my part and am bringing at least 6 guys back over to 3 and they have friends that join us as well… I am not hating on 343i but this is what halo multiplayer is and should not be reimagined, tweeked a little yes, but never reimagined.
The highest I’ve seen was around 7,500 people or slightly more than that, which is of course really great, I still play Halo 3 frequently every day.
The fact Halo 3 has been out for years and still competes with the Halo 4 population surely tells you something right?

The population counter for Halo 3 is inaccurate. I think it even counts some Reach players.
Halo 3 isn’t even in the top twenty most played games on Live anymore while Reach and 4 still are.

I’m responsible for getting some 10 people back on Halo 3 after being victims to the peril of H4. I deserve a Nobel Prize or something.

You forgot to mention how Reach and Reach 2… H4 I mean lost 75% of their players in less than a year. Two years into H3 it had more people playing Social Slayer and Team Slayer than Reach and H4 had combined 8-10 months in.
