HALO 3 Playlist

I was wondering if there is any more info on this and when it is coming out

Nothing specific. Probably on, or close to, the anniversary date (September 25th).

> Afternoon playtest on the classic “Halo 3 anniversary” playlist heading to Halo 5 next month. It’s coming along great. BR starts, yeah? @ske7ch

> I believe it currently has Team Slayer and CTF @ske7ch

> and Oddball @GH057ayame

> Halo 3’s 10th Anniversary (not halo 3: Anniversary)
> Like most of you we’re also filled with a mix of emotions at the upcoming 10th anniversary of Halo 3 – “Wow, it’s been ten years!? I feel old” and “Damn Halo 3 was awesome” being two common examples. You’ll have a few different ways you can celebrate this momentous milestone – in addition to the eventual release of Halo 3 back-compat on Xbox One, the team is also planning a special Halo 3 Anniversary Throwback playlist for Halo 5. This new matchmaking offering is being built from scratch on a selection of incredible community-made Halo 3 maps created with Forge in Halo 5 and will feature “classic” gameplay settings. We’re also cooking up a fun commemorative live stream that should offer good times and a hearty helping of giveaways. Stay tuned!

I wish people would just let H3 stay buried in the past where it belongs. It’s a dinosaur, and like every other extinct species, it had it’s time. Which ended.

I can’t speak for anyone else, but I enjoy many old things (literature, art, music, games, cars, etc.) and Halo 3 happens to be one of them.

I enjoy them when they are new, or when I discover them for the first time. But I have no interest in just watching the same movies, listening to the same albums or reading the same books over and over again. Change is not only inevitable but necessary. Otherwise you just rot in a foetid pool of nostalgia and your inability to let go of the past.

I’m an old man by gaming standards, and I would much rather listen to new music than listen to “In Utero” by Nirvana for the 10000000001th time. Or have a new game to play than have the same game I played a decade ago redone over and over again. People’s inability to let H3 die is one of things strangling this franchise to death.

How is that remotely strangling the franchise? Instead of blaming the fans, you should look at the people who are actually making the Halo games and wonder why they’re doing so poorly even with modern gamers. I can tell you right now that it’s not due to people’s H3 nostalgia.

Because any and every change made to the game is immediately met with “This wasn’t in my H2/H3 WAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!”

So you’re basically basing it on a tiny fraction of the game’s overall community and don’t have any real evidence. Okay. What’s interesting though is 343 still goes through with the changes that they want despite all those wahhh’s and it certainly doesn’t look like it’s helping the game. Maybe they should start listening to the wahhh posts and see what happens since it can’t get much worse.

Ive played them all at launch and i actually, slightly, agree with your point. My favorite is Halo 5, multiplayer wise, and my least favorites are 2 and 3 but what you are doing is not the way to do this. You need to respect peoples opinion no matter how much you disagree. Keep in mind when i say they are my least favorite that isnt saying they are bad
I love both games.

To OP. Im also looking forward to this playlist. I think it will be fun.

That’s pretty cool that there will be an H3 playlist. It’ll be fun.
