Halo 3 Perma-ban

Hey 343,

I know this might be a long shot but nothing ventured nothing gained, about 2 years ago my main halo 3 account got banned permanently, and I’m not denying that it’s false because I was running doubles with my friend while he was host booting which incidentally he didn’t get banned, but considering halo 3 could possibly start coming to its closure, it would be an absolute miracle if you guys could unban my account, I truly am sorry for what I did before but I do feel like the price of the one infringement has been paid.
Hope this is looked at.

Well first you got banned from Halo 3 and secondly the profile you’re on now has had its Gamerscore reset due to cheating. Sounds to me you got what you deserved.

I have never heard of a ban being overturned when it was deserved.

no they shouldnt unban you. you did wrong knowingly and got your punishment.

Still, in my opinion, the sentence has already been served by not being able to play our beloved H3 for so long. I’m sure the lesson has been learned. We need every dedicated H3 fan back we can get, for H3’s future population. I say unban him.

EDIT: You Halo fans who are against the unban should be ashamed of yourselves. Halo 3 fans are so endangered, that we should look out for each other; have each other’s backs. The man basically said he was sorry. It’s been years. He’s one of us. Unban him.

Seems like a leopard cannot change it’s spots. If I had any shred of pity for the OP, it’s gone now. :I

so because he said sorry that means he should be un-punished? i dont think so dude. he KNEW he was doing wrong and KNEW he would be punished for it but did it anyway. if he didnt want to be banned he should have followed the rules.

I understand what you mean, and I’m all for punishing betrayers, but this didn’t happen last week. It happened years ago. I’ve probably done worse in the past, and maybe you have too. I’ve changed and paid my dues in other areas in life. Bad choices get made. This is just a video game, not a busted drug deal where someone got hurt. I say unban anyone who’s been banned for more than 3 to 4 years, unless they stole someones account or something.

He’s openly admitted to host boosting. Something heavily against the rules.
He’s had his GamerScore reset on this account PROVING that he has not learned his lesson in terms of modding/cheating.

His ban was WELL deserved. I sympathize with the OP, but what’s right is right. He broke the rules and he’s paying for it. Permanent bans are permanent unless you can prove innocence. The OP cannot.

Frankly I don’t care how endangered the population is, I want to play against people I know aren’t going to resort to cheating to beat me, regardless of how much time has gone by.

Cheating is cheating. It doesn’t matter what the population is, the ban was deserved.

Archellik, I agree and disagree with you at the same time. I don’t want evil players ruining my game (ban them), but at the same time, I can forgive players who received punishment, and understood there punishment when it was given. Years take a long time to happen. If I met the OP on the streets tomorrow, I’d be grateful for just meeting one Halo fan in person in Virginia. I’m a one man army in my town. If I knew two of you, I’d think we have a clan. lol…

Is it true that earning more than three achievements in one game in away gets your gamerscore reset? Because if so, I might be banned in the near future. I’m trying to get as much done as possible online before that happens.

On topic, if I read correctly OP got banned for matching a player who was a cheater. The cheaters should be banned, not the people who bump into them.

I don’t really enjoy clans. Not my kinda thing.

Regardless of what our opinions are on the matter it’s in the Xbox TOS that any form of network manipulation will get you banned. Unfortunately for the OP this happened to him and while I do think it is sucky that it’s PERMANENT I understand why and fully agree with it.

I am Sorry LarryTang but we dont need players like him coming back to Halo3. Cheats like that we can do without even if the population is “endangered”.

Also i dont know about the US but host booting here in Australia is a crimnal offence. Under our federal laws you cannot launch DDOS attacks on another persons IP address to disconnect them from the internet.

So personally i dont want cheats and criminals playing any games on XBOX not just Halo 3 for that matter.
